I am curious to know if I should wait or not for the next best thing coming from Intel? When is the Pentium 5 coming out and would it be worth it to wait to build my next computer? I was planning on sitting till Fall '04 but I was wondering when their next big release will be?

Thanks

man if you can wait that long then by all means go for it. if you ask me today's comps are super fast for the software they run

are they going to be introducing the Prescott core as a P5, or will it be another P4?

Wait till PCI starts to phase out and the new PCI-X picks up, that's the only change coming about soon that's worth much of anything at the moment.

I thought PCI-X has been around a couple years and the new thing called PCI Express was different? i.e. parallel vs. serial interconnect like SATA150

The P5 name will probably accompany the soon-coming 775 LGA socket whether it is with prescott or tejas core.

0.09 prescott is next, if you have money to burn. it may be called p5, but i don't think anyone here could tell you for sure.
