That puzzles me. HTC One X, no SD Card, this phone no SD Card, I know about the iPhone...it's Apple and their greed but really...being able to backup to your SD card and restore apps to your new device is amazingly convenient.

Maybe the Note 2 but that is still unknown. After that I would guess the Galaxy S4 or something.

Note 2 is confirmed for VZW already

the nonremoveable battery trend is not good. i dont think i like the wireless charging either. is there any advantage to that such as faster charging?

Wireless charging is actually slower. It's a convenience thing. You just set a phone down and it charges. No fiddling with small connectors/doors/flaps/ect. You just set it down and it starts charging. If there was a universal standard it could be built into desks, tables, car consoles, ect. Just think how handy it would be to set your phone down in the cupholder of your car and your phone started charging immediately.

I know it's just a rumor, but I still think the 8GB and 16GB one is full of crap. I mean, I personally have not used all 16GB+ of my Droid Incredible 2, but I would say a 16GB/32GB would still be more ideal. Unless you think they are going to try to go the way of the Nexus 7?

But Google knows the unlocked phone market is craptastic in the US. Furthermore, before even talking about cheap phones, we're talking standing up against the iPhone. People have already tried budget phones against the iPhone, but when you're going to 8gb/16gb that's FAR LESS than the iPhone 5. Heck less than the iPhone 4S. If people have to "upgrade" to even match the 16gb of the iPhone, I think that's a huge loss.

In order for Android to compete against the iPhone, I've found that manufacturers have to go big or go home. Look at how the S3 is marketed. Quad vs dual core. 4.8" vs 4"/3.5" blah blah blah. Now you're gonna add 8gb onboard storage only? LOL.

The 'lip' around the S2s screen ruins the look of the S2.

Pretty sure most people prefer the design of the S2 over the S3. I've seen this at plenty of tech review sites, the initial reaction of AT in the S3 thread, the initial reaction of comments on Engadget, Verge, etc. as well as friends who've I've talked to about this in person.

I've also gathered that the One X is in general a better looking phone than the S3 from these review sites as well as anecdotal evidence, as well as my own personal taste. However, the non-removable storage and the slightly worse performance and battery makes the One X a less attractive option.

Fact is bezel is appreciated. It's not just physical bezel. It's the fact that you have padding even on webpages, and that content is indented, and some white space IS good in design.

Everyone I know who had an s2 wanted an s3 when they saw that one because they all thought it looked better. So does that mean more people prefer the s3?

You see how impossible it is to really get a purely factual conclusion?

The S3 is definitely put together better than the S2.
The way the glass is bonded to the surrounding is tighter with better tolerance. The back fits on tighter, the whole phone has less flex or creak than the S2.

Looks are subjective but it's hard to argue that the S2 is put together anywhere near as well as the S3.

well then i'd love for S3 quality construction with the design of the S2, but we know with lawsuits that's not coming back.

Samsung's basically resorted to ugly designs. Look at the Note 10.1 for example.

So you basically want them to put extra unneeded bulk on the corners, add some dead space top and bottom, make the screen flat, put a weird hump on the back and make it a bit creakier?

My only concern with this phone (other than the Nexus 8/16 GB rumours) is the small battery. I believe I read that it's going to be 2100mah? In comparison, the Note II has a 3100 mah battery.

I'm really hoping that with the new phones that battery life will improve significantly...but with a phone this powerful and a screen this big, it's questionable if the battery can survive a full day.

I want a good looking product.

I don't believe in bumps in the back. The SGS3 isn't bump free either. That's something that can change with design, but honestly the front of the product is more important than anything else.

And I said if it is true that the S3 is better constructed according to you, then sure I'll take the better construction. My S2 isn't creaky at all.

And come on. What's unneeded bulk? Do you hang up photos printed from your photo printer in your house? Pin them to the wall? Aren't picture frames just unneeded bulk? Oh wait, they're for aesthetics. I guess borders are a product of their own and sell millions. I wonder why on AT there's boxes in boxes in boxes for the quick reply section. Why not make it simple? Why not go to Craigslist style?

I wonder how good the custom roms will be on this, considereing its pretty similar to the LG nexus

If I had to guess, like the SGS1 and the Nexus. The SGS1 must have had the most custom ROMS of any non nexus phone ever.

I haven't done many custom roms on my nexus, just cause it doesn't have an SD card where I can backup everything.

Biggest difference is that back then that was one of the few good Android phones. Now there are many more choices and LG isn't on the average person's radar.
