😀

Funny, but if it were accurate it would be at Fry's or Micro Center 😀

The punchline is in reference to blue-collar day laborers appearing outside of construction hardware stores (such as Home Depot) waiting for work. Showing white-collar day laborers waiting for work outside of Office Depot is apropos.

I can't believe I just explained that 😛

Nah, I got the joke. Just saying all the real IT nerds are at Fry's and Micro Center 😀

Though I guess the math geeks would be at Office Depot, too...

Could you go into more detail, I'm not sure what you are talking about.

You didn't get the joke then. It's not about IT workers, but rather white collar office workers in general.

WHY DOES THIS NEED TO BE EXPLAINED IN SUCH DETAIL!?!

Also, Home Depot => Office Depot is better wordplay than Home Depot => Fry's

Um. He got that. His point is just that the white collar tech-savvy people are more inclined to be outside of Frys. No one really goes to Office Depot unless they absolutely have to.

...of course, Office Depot is used because more people would get it.

So you're saying the white collar pickup should make multiple stops per day picking up workers? That would eat into profit margins burning all of that extra gas and putting those extra miles on the pickup. Home Depot for you.

False.

Everyone knows that when you need cheap admin/analysis type work for Corp America, you outsource to India or near source to a company made up of cheap college students.

Wait a minute...I don't get it...

Dammit, I knew I shouldn't have said anything.

I got the joke in its entirety, was just making a lame comment. No more over-analyzing it, please. 🙂

You stand outside any home-depot, there are a bunch of guys waiting to ask you (depending on what you bought) if you need to hire some cheap labor to say, install your plumbing, or if you bought roofing items et...al to fix your roof. I found this cartoon extremely funny as I always see this when I go to home depot.

Good one, and this is how a lot of places are running nowadays.. With one or two very skilled 'permanents' and everyone else are $10/hr jockeys from craigslist.

Uh, yeah that's the joke. Well done for getting it.
