The Wildcat II did not support DirectX in hardware, and it looks like the Wildcat III only supports DirectX 7 in hardware. Oh well. :(

Screw the board, I should have bought 3DLabs' stock! It's up 22% today on that news when the market is down 3%!

Thats a 3D professional Card... not really made for gaming. Although I'm sure your games won't be choppy if you use it.

well maybe, but why would I want to spend however much that costs (which is probably alot) when I can get a couple gf3's for the same price?

Don't think this LINK will work but I'll try anyway.

From Dell.com, the Wildcat II is $2,139.

This does seem like a bit of overkill, but they said that about the 2MB ATI cards 10 years ago.

I guess its really too bad the drivers for these cards aren't great for OpenGL or DirectX based games. These cards will eat CAD and real 3D animation and rendering alive, but for games, you cannot beat Nvidia or ATi hardware.

<< how much is this baby? >>

The press release says nothing about its cost. Maybe it's not going to be sold separately (i.e. without the purchase of a workstation).

That is typical of professional workstation cards. I've seen some that won't let you purchase it without proof that a trained technican will install it. My guess is $2500.
