I think these will so the same way those gold dollar coins did. People will actually refuse to take them.

I doubt that. a 20 bill is a 20 bill.

Why would you refuse to take it? Obviously the US has penis envy over the color in some Canadian bills, which is not surprising.

Last time they released new bills, I overheard someone in Wendy's telling someone else "I'm going to put one of them away somewhere. It will probably be worth money in a few years!"
Yeah like $20, you fool!

I remember the new twentys (not the one's released today) coming out shortly after the new fifty dollar bills. On the second day I used one of the new twentys at a McDonalds. The girl gave me change back as if I had given her a fifty.
I asked her if she was sure she wanted to do that, and before I even got to say "It was a twenty, not a fifty.", she broke off with the worst attitude. She even used the word "Sh1t", at which point I pocketed my new found loot, grabbed my big mac, and told her to have a nice day.![]()

Best chance of getting one this week is go inside the bank. According to a CNN article, they wont be in many ATMs for awhile since that requires a re-calibration.

I have heard of no problem with places not taking the Sacajawea (SP?) dollars. Instead, the problem seems to be that people are hoarding them and not spending them.

One of the old ones? In good condition it might be worth something way on down the road.
