The new release DOG SOLDIERS.

Out of desperation we rented this last night. We expected crap. The story and title alone lended us those ideas, but I have to say that the movie wasn't too bad.

A band of soldiers is dispatched to war games deep in the woods. When they stumble across a rival team slaughtered in camp, they realize they're not alone. Something deadly is waiting in the darkness: something not animal and not human. Holed up in an abandoned farmhouse, the soldiers start a bloody battle against the beasts. Dawn is only a few hours away, but they may not live to see it. Dog Soldiers is a terrifying chiller in the tradition of Predator and An American Werewolf in London.

Yes, the movie involves wherewolves, so it's only going to be so believable, but if you can stomach that fact the rest of it wasn't bad. The only actor I noticed was "Tommy" from Trainspotting, who was the biggest character in this movie. It was your standard action anti-monster movie, but where most are just boring and crappy and rehashed crap, I actually liked this one. The action and acting were decent and there were some good bits involving guts and blood.

It was pretty good. I think they named a character a particular name just for the joke.

Eight legged freaks was a pretty darn good movie if you expect a parody of all those really bad old monster movies. Think Arachnophobia.

I sure am! It's called using my brain to pass judgement, and if indeed 8 legged freaks is the mindless parody I expected my conclusions are now further cemented. God I had sh*t like that!
