Well, it's a nice looking car. I know NFS4 will have something to say in this thread :) I got a nice offer for a GM credit card too. 0% for about a year, then 6.9% fixed, no annual fee and 5% towards a GM vehicle from every purchase. What yall think about dat?

thats 5% of everypurchase made. not 5% in general.

GMS gives you about 15%

I can name 4-5 other cars in it's class that I'd buy in a heartbeat before I'd consider the G6.

*ho hum*

Based on the long-wheelbase Epsilon platform that serves as the basis for the Chevrolet Malibu Maxx, the 2005 Pontiac G6 SE and GT will both get a 3.5-liter OHV V6 making 200 horsepower and featuring electronic throttle control. Endowed with a high-output, 3.9-liter V6 making 240 horsepower through variable valve timing, the G6 GTP arrives in the middle of the 2005 model year. For 2006, the standard motor in the SE model will be a 2.4-liter DOHC Ecotec four-cylinder engine producing 170 horsepower. With curb weights starting around 3,400 pounds, this four banger might have its work cut out for it.

Doesn't look bad at all. I'd avoid the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine like the plague, though.

Yeah, I think so "highly" of the new G6 that I'd rather have a new '05 Hyundai Sonata instead of the G6

thats because you think so "highly" of any domestic car other than maybe the GTO, and the vette, and maybe the current 'stang and the gt.

Most domestic cars are pure sh!t...end of discussion. GM still hasn't tackled the "average midsize class interior design/quality" aspect of things...even with this brand new G6.

That being said, domestic cars that I like:

300C
Magnum
CTS-V
'05 STS
XLR
C5/C6 Vette
Focus (yes, I said it)

All the rest of them are mediocre or subpar at best

new mustang?

Meh, forgot about that one. No doubt it'll be a nice car, but Ford needs to quit this retro bullsh!t. The problem with retro is that it sells well for the first year or two when people are all into the hype, but when people get tired of seeing the same tired sh!t from 40 years ago, they want a more modern design.

In other words, Ford should have evolved the 'tang into a more modern interpretation of where the Mustang should go instead of regurgitating the past

let me get this straight...

this car sports a derivative and instantly forgetable exterior (the front looks like an altima, the rear looks like a neon), a butt-ugly plasticy interior, and a V6 that, despite allegedly having variable valve timing, still requires 30% more displacement to make the same power as a honda accord. it also weighs more than the accord. and the auto (most buyers will choose this option) is a 4-speed instead of a 5-speed.

all this would be almost forgivable (this is GM, after all) if the car was cheap. but... it's not cheap. in fact, an accord V6 can be had for exactly the same amount of money. and hondas come with a reputation as some of the most reliable cars in the world, plus an excellent resale value. the pontiac comes with neither (au contraire).

Sorry The GTO is hardly a domestic car. Built by Holden in Australia from an existing Holden design. I'm Sorry but Australia has Stolen the GTO from the US
