ok guys...probably a lot of you might disagree and sorry if i hurt the sentiments of a few guys in the following lines....what a total sellout ozzy has become....earlier he was the godfather of metal. today he is a disgrace to the metal community.well have you heard his new album....never has an ozzy osbourne album sounded so trite . with the opening single being an absolute pop song. ozzy's last good album was no more tears. There was a mystique to Ozzy, now all of it is lost. Im not sure if it is because of old age or because of Miss Master Manipulator Sharon Osbourne. Anyways problem is not with the album. Problem is with him doing a show on MTV. That too a type of show which i feel is absolute stupidity. I dont like shows like survivor , real world etc, him making his life a show on tv is making a clown out of him and eating away at the dark and mysterious ozzy that he was. the King is Dead Long Live the new King James Hetfield. As someone mentioned earlier, im not one of those guys who screams sellout sellout at the slightest opputunity. It is ok when you are true to yourself, like say Britney Spears is a pop singer and flaunts it, Greenday is a pop-punk band and flaunts it and ozzy well he goes with the dark gothic creepy imagery for all these years and now makes a total U-turn and joins a type of show normally catered for teenage stupidity. feel free to defend ozzie, this is just my personal opinion.

Hahaha, that is a joke, right? You think Ozzy's a sellout but you take Metallica seriously?

Personally I was never a big fan of Ozzy's music (except maybe some Sabbath), but that show was absolutely hilarious. :D :D The rest of his family are actually better "characters" than he is. What a weird-ass show. Definitely original. And as for the whole sell-out thing, Ozzy has been an MTV darling for years, just like Metallica or SOAD or Pantera or whomever.

oh well, lie to me to justify your own pride.

<< That was some of the funniest sh!t I've seen in a long time. >>

Agreed. I laughed out loud a few times. Stupid or not, it was entertaining.

Ozzy is too d@mn old and established to "sellout." Who is he selling out to anyway? His video's have been played on Mtv since Mtv began. It's not like he's trying to/needs to "re-invent" his career or anything. The mofo can do anything he d@mn well pleases 'cause he is Ozzy. The dude has payed his dues in spades. As for his music, everything post Sabbath, IMO, is lacking. All the stuff he made during the 80's sounds like, well, American 80's pop-metal (duet w/Lita Ford anyone). No More Tears was good, but it definetly was pop friendly. And Ozzy is still reviered<sp?> by the Metal community 'cause he was honest. He never tried to "ride a fad" or anything. He's always made the music he's wanted to make. End of story. And if he thought it would be fun to do a "sitcom" for Mtv then that's great. More power to him.

<< making his life a show on tv is making a clown out of him and eating away at the dark and mysterious ozzy that he was >>

Have you ever seen him live? throwing buckets of water on people, then playfully dropping the empty bucket on the head of some security guard. He regularly moons the audience. That is "dark and mysterious"?

haha i thought it was hysterical when he was telling his kids not to do drugs or drink...yeah like they would take tthat advice seriously from ozzy...what was he drunk or on drugs from 75-85??? wiith maybe a couple minutes of sobriety in there :)

ozzy rules...people who call him a sellout need to get a life...

as tools lyrics go-
"All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb f*ck.
I sold out long before you ever heard my name."

OMG! Ozzy's human! :Q

Yep, there goes the mystique. I was in shock seeing that he is so human. I thought he would at least be "really cool". Boy, was I wrong! :D

Hey, it ain't no different than seeing Alice Cooper on Hollywood Squares for the first time. I got over it and still think he's great. The act is still intact. And how many celebs do you know, that are themselves on and off stage? Few and far between, that's for sure! Bottom line is, you can't take away their accomplishments. This new jag does NOT detract, IMO.

I loved when he getting pissed trying to use the remotes. It was great when he told his kids "don't get drunk or stoned tonight, because I can't and I'll be really pissed"

Just because he does a show doesn't mean he's sold out. Did you even watch the show? It was a bunch of cameras in his house just like the real world. However, this wasn't a bunch of whinney kids thrown together in some rich lavish house that they could never afford to rent. It was Ozzy in his house being Ozzy. Does that mean he's lost his shadowy image of someone you'll never meet? Yes, but who the hell cares. It's Ozzy. The show wouldn't have happened if he wasn't so mysterious in the first place. Yet, he acts like the camera isn't even there. Obviously, there are times when he realizes its there (drug talk...), but for the most part you get to see the man being Ozzy. It's a multi million dollar house he bought and furnished. He's being about as real as you can get. It's his kids and family (minus 1) and it the show flopped, I doubt he'd care. The only reason they did the show was the response from their Cribs appearance.

I just don't see how you can say he sold out because of this show. If he had made this show and tried to put some plot together or tried to incorporate morals in each episode, then I'd say he's being a bit money grubbing. But, I honestly believe that a big reason this show is happening is because his fans wanted it and their family thought it would be fun. And there isn't a plot to the show...it's just a day in the life of Ozzy. He's not putting on a show.

I think it's a great way to see Ozzy and his family...who hasn't wondered what Ozzy does during the day? I'll bet he thinks it's funny just like I do.

And if you watch the show, you should be able to appreciate the man more. The way he loves his kids and treats them with respect should be an example. The language was bad, but it was cool as hell to see Ozzy and his son sitting on the couch watching TV together with Ozzy's arm around him.

I am 41 years old, and have been an Ozzy fan since early Sabbath. I think Blizzard of Oz is still his best solo album- " Revelation/ Mother Earth rocks. Randy Rhoads was a great guitar player ( Hey, anyone remember what a friggin SOLO is anymore????)

I'm sorry I missed this. Ozzy has always been a loon.

But, I wonder if the first guy that pitched this idea for a TV show got fired?

<<what was he drunk or on drugs from 75-85>>

More like 68-95 hehehe. I've got a schedule of the upcoming bands to appear in a bar in London dated 1968 and Sabbath is on there.

Bwahhah....just watched the repeat..that was awesome.

Cosmickarma, Ozzy is not a sellout! Have you ever listened to Black Sabbath? They invented HEAVY Metal.
If wasn't for them , you probably wouldn't have your precious Metallica. And by the way, Hetfeild and Co. are the epitome of the term sellout.

Does Ozzy have parkinson's or something? Why does he shake like that? Is it from years of chronic drug usage? It is a hilarious show though, I love it. I wish I could see it more often than I actually do.

"Does Ozzy have parkinson's or something?"

You see "doddering" old people all the time and you wonder how they got that way. Palsy, parkinson's arthritis and everything else. I doubt he's much over 55 years old, but there you see the start of 'doddering old man' syndrome creeping up. That's the only part of the show that makes me sad. I'm glad he found a good woman to take care of him. I have a feeling she'll stick with him till the end...
