Changed the title, figured we might as well have an "official" thread.

My observations from the 11 min vid:

-Pace of the game seems to be MUCH faster than BC2, which I like. Lots more chaotic as well.

-Graphics look sharper although that IS the PC version, BC2 on PC looked infinitely better than it did on the 360. Although I wonder why they overlayed the Xbox 360 controller buttons...

-Movement mechanics still look pretty shoddy compared to MW2, very similar to BC2. Moving, shooting, etc is all so robotic.

-Killstreaks...er...whatever they're called are neat simply because the effects happen so quicky. There's no warning for the mortar strike, it looks like the time between calling it and impact is maybe 2 seconds, if that.

-Guns look really weak (like BC2). Player was lighting up bad guys and having to hit 'em what seems like 6+ shots to kill said enemy. Also, 28 rounds in the M4 = 6.8SPC M4, not that any of you are about gun babble :awe:

I remain skeptical skill but I am more excited than I was. We'll see how the beta goes...if the 360 ever gets it.

You PS3 guys post your impressions!

That footage is clearly from a console version (probably ps3 I would think since they demoed it on ps3 during their press conference) because of the numerous "press (blue x)" notifications that show up on the screen.

You don't think that "Blue X" is possibly the Xbox 360's blue X which would be the reload button (which makes sense since it says "(X) Reload")

I figured the graphics looked a little too sharp to be a console game, they're definitely cleaner than the BC2 graphics.

It looks IDENTICAL to BC2, down to the silly buttstock waggle when you walk.

My thoughts EXACTLY. The waggle irks me as well.

Hrm, looks like it's not so bad that they delayed the 360 Beta. PS3 is having lots of issues:

...the ps3 beta has a fatal freezing issue. I can't even get through half a match before having to reboot the system. Hopefully this is the issue they are fixing on the 360. Otherwise it plays like a fast paced bad company pretty good but a rough beta

Dude, how do I even get into the beta?? I pre-ordered the game on Amazon.com, and the only code I got was for a stupid MP3 download. I also own Bad Company 2 for 360, so the combo should mean I have access. Any thoughts?

The Xbox 360 beta was delayed. Amazon will email you a code that will get you into the Beta when it is time for it to start.

PS3/PC people are different. I believe if you pre-ordered the game from the EA store and you were a BC2 VIP you got access to the beta yesterday. Everyone else gets access to the beta on Monday.

i dont care what anybody says right now...MOH looks like the best multiplayer shooter ever..though i admit it does look like BC2 a bit

I got my beta code today, i went to the gamespot and got one, even though supposedly im suppose to be emailed my code which i dont trust.

Waiting for their site to list the 360 version .

Looks way too similar to BC2, but what do you expect, both games made by EA.

it does look simliar but that isnt necessarily a bad thing. the problem for me with battlefield was the maps were huge, gameplay/action was slow as dog shit, snipers all over the place, game was too dependent on teamwork.

I havent played the beta for MOH but it seems like it has the battleifield engine and feel to it but smaller maps and more action and killstreaks and guns feel like COD.

this game could be what I wanted battlefield bc2 to be, but im not getting my hopes up.

You consider that a bad thing?

Been playing the PS3 beta a little bit. My thoughts thus far:

- Definitely much faster pace than BC2, but that's a double-edged sword since the Frostbite engine doesn't control as smoothly as IW's, so firefights feel clunkier. Honestly, I am curious to play the campaign, since I was under the impression that while two development teams were handling SP and MP separately, both would use the same engine. Yet MP is clearly Frostbite, while I've heard numerous references to the Unreal Engine for the SP, which just begs a giant, "WTF?" especially since MOH: Airborne used the Unreal Engine and it looked and ran just fine (even if the game wasn't anything to write home about).

- Frame rate seems pretty stable, but is definitely hovering around 30-fps and not the 60-fps shown in all the E3 trailers. Not sure if those were just taken on PC or what.

- The game pausing for a solid 2 seconds every time you die is annoying as hell. It's like, "Oh, the game just paused, I must have taken on in the dome."

- The PS3 beta seems prone to random system lock-ups. Went about 30-minutes without issues then suddenly it started freezing up every other round or so.

- I forgot how much I prefer the Xbox 360 controller. So why did I not wait for the 360 beta? First, I was impatient, and second, I wanted to see if there was noticeable difference between the two since PS3 fanboys went wild and made such a big deal about the fact that the PS3 was the primary development platform. Yeah, there isn't. It looks and plays absolutely identically to my 360 copy of BC2, so clearly PS3 being lead platform is simply for ease of porting from PS3 to 360 (rather than vice-versa) and not the result of some super-secret Cell awesomeness. Sorry fanboys.

- I do like the kill streaks. The mortar strike is just killer, though the inverted controls on the Predator are confusing the first couple times you do it. Not sure why that was necessary.

Verdict thus far: Has potential, but hasn't blown up my skirt. Honestly, the E3 gameplay demos of Treyarch's Black Ops of all games were actually more impressive and got me more excited. Stay tuned.

Today supposedly the beta comes out for the 360...and my email server is down. If I've got a beta code in my inbox right now I can't get to it 🙁

Sadly it was officially delayed another week or so. Check out the EA MOH forums for the sad news.

Started playing the PC beta last night... this game is atrocious.

Crash after crash, completely uninspired gameplay, infinite configuration bugs, pathetic server list.

This is the worst entry into the genre I've seen in a long time, it looks like a few guys took all of the DICE tools and threw this together in a week.

I think the game is much better than BC2 and right now I am enjoying it more than mwf2. The maps are just better thought out and the camping is not anywhere as bad as the other games. The freezing is getting annoying though. The BC2 demo for me was horrible as far as gameplay, MOH has found the right balance. I am excited about this one. Might not cancel the preorder now. I doubt this game will take over mwf2 for people who love that game but def a great alternative.
