The new Imac is really cool looking, but comes with some shameful specs.

I don't like Mac's much. I've used them at school when I was younger and I played with them at stores, so I'm not a real user or anything, but it seems like I could get a PC to do all that for alot less money and I would be able to play the latest games and apps. I find macs to have a very limited pallet of apps compared to the PC and that is why I don't use it.

well at my school, we have $800 imacs and $800 dells, and the dell surely kicks the imacs arse.

Keeping in mind that the mac wasnt designed for everyday apps...

Starting up IE takes a lot longer on the imac than on the dell, dell starts up instantly, imac takes around 5-10 seconds (even when IE is the only app running)

Opening up word: dell 2 seconds, mac 5 seconds...

Surfing the internet: (since our school uses a shared t1, bandwidth shouldn't be an issue), the dell took 5 seconds to load a nonsuscriber atot page, while the mac doesn't even load it at all. In fact, when i opened up more than 3 IE windows on the imac, it froze! and it did this nearly every time i did that

Netscape takes around the same time for both though, but is slower than IE

But 1 plus for the mac: i am able to load most webpages that are normally blocked on the dell

My point? Why did my schools buy those fscking imacs?

With that cute flat panel display, you could put up sliver wallpaper and have a < a...hem > cheap automated shaving mirror.

If they buried a web cam in the frame, you could do an online shaving shoe.

the performance of that machine is more than adequate for the people it's being marketed to.
