http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...te-to-bring-new-home-page-lessen-refund-time/

The most notable change will be in the UI – the Home and Categories pages now each feature a carousel that scrolls through promoted apps. The goal of this is to make it easier to discover applications, which is one area where the Market falls flat in comparison to the iPhone’s App Store. Two new categories have also been added: Widgets and Live Wallpapers, with additional categories to come "in the weeks ahead."

Gone are the days of tabs on app pages, as well: all of the information will be accessible in a single page, though I wouldn’t say tabs are gone altogether – the Apps/Games/etc separation is still present. Information on related apps and content ratings are also now available on these pages. Application size limit is also going up to 50 MB in order to provide better support for games.

The last change will probably be slightly less welcome: the refund period has been shortened from a full 24 hours to just 15 minutes. Although they’re probably right when they say that most users refund within minutes anyway, it could be frustrating if you want to really test an app before you commit to buying it.

Not sure I like that 15min refund timer, but I usually do a bit of research before I buy anyway.

What? This was a major draw for me of the app store. I buy a wallpaper or something that doesn't work right? Refund.

Droid got the 2.2.1 update, not 2.3.

And the 15 minutes is horseshit. There's the thing like games or nav or any number of apps that have a smaller core and then download a bunch of data (for longer than 15 minutes). Plus the convenience factor--read about something, download it, and then try it in awhile when you have some free time. And some apps need to be used for awhile to make sure it's working right. I hope they change this back or at least make the refund time adjustable by the developer.

I like the new market. I'm running it now and I like how all the information is on the same page. The related app recommendation is nice and overdue feature. I think 15 minute trial is too short but 24 hours was too long and ripe for abuse. Still it's nice to have the option for a refund. I usually know right away if the app is crap.

Mine still hasn't updated but they could have came to a compromise on the refund time frame. Yes, 24hrs is to long for games. They should have limited it on those apps, keeps people from beating it and returning it. 24hrs isn't to long for other apps.

Another option would be to limit the in app run time before return.

Well if idiots wouldn't quickly play through an entire game in 1 sitting and then request a refund for it, maybe they wouldn't have had to get rid of the 24-hour policy. 15 minutes still gives you enough time to know if it works at least.

WebOS tends to encourage developers to release free trial versions of their apps that people can try out vs. having a refund policy (there isn't one at all that I know of).

15 minutes is a bit too short. 1 hour would be a very reasonable time frame.
