The NEW and IMPROVED MSN... just for Firefox?

At around 10:30PM Mountain Time, I noticed that MSN looked rather "bleak". Graphics and borders were limited, and the style sheets looked trimmed down.

It only happened with Firefox 1.0. IE6 looked normal. Reproed on two machines.

Did anyone else catch this? I remember long ago when Opera started making waves, the folks at Hotmail and MSN degraded the sites for Opera users unless they spoofed their browser ID tag in HTTP commands. That is, until it made news on Wired and other publications.

Perhaps Microsoft is back up to its old tricks again?

your insane if you cant see a difference.

the headers on everything in IE are shinier, and more lighted, and look like they are extruded. while in firefox its just flat.

Jeez.. you would think that being the largest software company, they could have hired better webmasters.

By the time I wrote this on Anandtech, it had gone away. So if you were testing after reading this article, the site (www.msn.com) looked nearly the same. It was an earlier point in the evening when MSN was being "degraded". Well, if you could call crap smelling even worse being degraded.

I don't use MSN for Broadband. Cox Cable with no proxies and no cableco supplied software.
