Hey guys, I recently got a neuros 20 gig USB 2.0 HD mp3 Player for my b-day. I know that is is a bit bigger than the ipod and the Zen, but i feel its features make up for the rest.

Neuros's Main Site

I presonally love the built in Fm transmitter. It is very powerful, and always comes in handy. It prevents the need for tape converters in cars. You lose no quality, and it works up to 30 feet away. For those in the chicagoland area, i can completely drown out Q101 from 15 feet. It also fun to mess with other people at red lights by changing what they are listening to. I always use tit in my car, because you can choose any FM station to tansmit to, and it fits in a little slot in my dash.

It also has an excellent Fm tuner that has a feature called Hear it Save it, which allows you to record a 30 sec clip from a song, then when you plug it into your comp, the artist and title will be filled in for you. I have had no problems with this, and find it very useful for identifying good songs.

It has a built in mic that'll record right to mp3 format, which can be played later on, or saved to yuor computer.

Overall im very happy with it, and i feel it was worth it. They retail at about 200, but you can find new ones on ebay for at least 150. I hope this informs people that there are alternatives to the IpOd and the Zen that have more features, and are cheaper.

Thanks for the review -- I'm shopping for a player now so it's good to hear about alternatives.

How loud can it play? I was disappointed in the amp of my Yepp flash player since it can't compensate for CDs I rip that have a low overall volume.

This looks pretty sweet! Never heard of it tho. I understand the iPod appeal better after seeing them in person...I stopped by the Mac store a few weeks ago. Now I see why people call iPods "sexy" lol.

I find the volume never to be a problem, and thse of you worreid about it being too big, if you look on that site and see the 128 mb player, and how small it is, in the coming months, it has announced that a new version of the 20-80 gb players will be coming out that size.

i also forgot about backpack swapping! you can get the player and a 20 gig backpack, and if you fill it up, you can remove the silver inside, and put it in another 20-80 gb abckpack on it, its very versitile. I love it

It also fun to mess with other people at red lights by changing what they are listening to.

Are you serious?

Ah man... I'd be next to a guy in a pickup listening to a Country station at a red light. He'd get a taste of Trance music, hahahahah. Imagine the reaction / utter confusion.

EDIT: But I still doubt I'll be buying any of these MP3 players anytime soon. I know I wouldn't use one. CDRs are cheap and so are portable CD players. Plus you can easily share discs with friends while on the run. I don't even use my portable CD player much anyhow.

thats true, but yes, changing others music is always a hoot and never gets old.... I live in a place with a lot of rap music.....

I really like this toy, changing the stations. Too Kool. Now just have to predict what they are listening to . If I have so disposable income id be there.

Are you a "stealth marketer"? Put another way, are you accepting compensation from Neuros in return for posting?

That thing is FUGLY. I would rather get a refurbed Dell DJ 15gb for $152 instead. Or pony up the $$$ for an IPOD.🙂

Can you transfer songs to the backpack without using the computer?
For example, you've got all your songs on your backpack, but nothing on the player, so you want to put a few songs on the player so you can go jogging with just the player rather than having the large backpack on.

Oh, they have this thing theys ell call a bundle. It comes with the 20 30 or whatever gb packpack, along with a 256 mb flash player., which is a seperate "backpack" thats as big as that little greay player on the inside. but i believe you need a computer to put the songs on that, because the player itself doesnt have the storage capabilties as much as it does the cool features.
