That's third level. Sheesh! :p

For me,

Charm Person
Comprehend Languages
Unseen Servant

(maybe CLW depending on just how well it worked - it cures cancer? instant bazillionaire)

Charm person could get you all the money you needed.

Find familiar could be cool, but I just know I'd end up with the fucking toad. :(

Comprehend languages would be lots of fun.

Mending - could you remove a virus from a HD with this? Or fix a broken/burned out cpu/psu etc?

Was "Lighting Bolt!" a choice by chance?

Sure, Charm Person could get you plenty of money, but CLW would both make you rich AND allow you to do some major good if it were strong enough.

Maybe we'd need Cure Disease for something like cancer, ALS, etc.

Its more useful when you know for certain the animal has seen something important, and will readily part with such information.

I would go for this.

What is missing is Cantrip (0-level spells). I would love some type of cantrip spell. Some dust needs to be cleaned up on the floor. Just wave my hand and the dust gets cleaned up.

Mending would also be a cool spell because something that is broken could be made whole again permamently.

The other cool one would be comprehend languages. Just cast a spell and you can understand what someone is saying in a foreign tongue or writing you don't understand.

Level 0 spells werent introduced until 3rd edition and most of us hardcore nerds learned on the early D&D or AD&D 2nd edition.

Wow first edition.. I believe that had an Assassin class built in, one of my friends showed off his fancy second edition books before we ever sat down to play so I never played under first edition rules but...

Since you didn't specify that they had to be all from the same class:

Find Familiar... because everyone wants a familiar
Charm Person... because it's just damn handy.
Cure light wounds... being a minor miracle worker would be fun & useful.

Obligatory Addition: Magic Missle.. so I can cast it at the darkness! heheh

I'm a parent of a 15 month old and a 5 year old.

I'm picking sleep, mending, and charm.

lol. You won't need charm until they're in double digits. Heal Light Wounds would be great to take away the boo boos.

Become an NBA god...

Jump - obvious.
Featherfall - well, I just jumped 10 foot, I better be able to soften the landing!
Push - manipulate the basketball.

How about cast times?

Just don't move while casting, and you won't get called for double dribbling.

As for me, I'd take entangle. By itself, that spell could make a superhero or villian.

Go into bank, entangle (lasts a long time), steal loot, leave, entangle any cops...

I didn't multiclass between wizard and cleric. That way I can cast fireball once my daughter hits dating age I hit 5th level.

Let's see if I can be creative here.

I was thinking about saying Spider Climb, because that could be fun, but eating a live spider doesn't excite me.

So, Magic Missile, Jump, and Feather Fall. I would use these spells while hiking or backpacking on trails. Magic Missile for hunting or defense against animals, Jump and Feather Fall for traversing difficult terrain. I think that would be fun.
