I've never been to the West coast, regardless. I plan on spending a lot of time there 🙂

The west coast is a lie. The whole thing. You're thinking Summer, sand, sun, surf, swimming. Wrong. The water is still upwelling from the deeps of the last ice age. It's too freaking cold to swim. It's all an illusion. Eastern California has some neat stuff, Lassen, Mono Lake, Joshua Tree.

Two Ys - Yellowstone and Yosemite.

BTDT, but not Yellowstone for a long time (14 years old). Haven't seen the Grand Canyon, but that comes to mind. Niagara Falls might be good. The redwoods and sequoias in northern California are impressive. San Francisco is a beautiful city (I live across the bay). Best time to see S.F. is September or October in good warm weather. Guess you have to see New York City at some point.

Mt. St. Helens is the only one I can think of not mentioned thus far. Saw it back in high school for the science fair trip. Only other place I've been off of the east coast was Hawaii back in 6th grade. If I can find someone to do it with I may give this a shot myself this summer...
