How about this... install on some machines in the labs by hand... have those count for the race
the machines you remotely install on, if you do any, don't count cause you "cheated"

or something else along those lines
but I sure want those machines crunchin....preferably for the bandits :p

I say just do it, IJump. It might be the only way to beat a team with Networkman on it...:D

thats like... 250 results a day. bring it. (120 500MHz celeries at 2/day)

and then theres those other labs... you could be doing 1000+ a day. easily. thats better than most TEAMS out there.

and if you don't want to much with the race you could go borg or seticav (ta_seti@hotmail.com)

I see everybody pimping TA mini-teams as alternatives for during the MTR, but I'll stand up and say hey, if you want those things producing during the MTR, put 'em under my account for the time being, and that won't affect the MTR at al... Oh... wait... Never mind, it would ;)

It still wont be enough, since the rest of E^5 will prevent disaster, if NWM cant hold the fort alone :D

Well, so far he has a spotless record, I guess thats why I came to be on his team.
Havent been on the winning team yet, but this time....

forgive my unspeakable ignorance, but as I have been lacking of this forum as of late, could I possibly ask of you the definition of a "MTR?"

OK, I've made my decision, you will all see what it is later.............

BTW, I have just over 158GHz that I can think of while I am sitting here at home on a Sunday night, and since I been typing this sentence, I can already think of some computers that I have left out. (That is not counting the 60 new computers that we have ordered).

:D

And what is all this talk about networkman and how the winning streak will continue? I don't think he is up to the challenge of taking on me and my work fleet, if I bring it into the MTR!!! ;)

IJump, don't worry about it... That's exactly what the MTR is meant for - assimulate and win for the team.

Afterall, we all win for the TeAm. :) Good luck assimilating.

Couldn't hurt! ;)

Make it a memo to the staff setting new policy that you support the use of "wasted" CPU-cycles
for other worthy Univeristy projects.

If you are at a private institution you are much safer. :D

Nope, public high school, but they (the people downtown) supported running RC5, I will probably mention to my boss downtown so he knows about it, but as far as getting permission, I get that from myself. I am responsible for everything that happens in the building and what we run on the computers. DC projects were run prior to me arriving, they will probably be run by someone after I leave. I have permission plus history on my side. :D

Are you the one in charge of accounting also???

Just in case someone else cries out about the cost of bandwidth!!!!

Be on the Safe side, check to make sure AND get it in writing. This way there won't be any surprises.

Only after all this, should you go for it. :D

You don't have to heed any of this, it really your own choice. But please cover your butt!!

Just a little friendly advice. :):)
