Watched it for the first time yesterday. Was interesting, and I can see how she'd be crazy if they didn't have the tape with the almost 18 hours of recorded static on there. Hmmm...

What did you think?

The part that gave me the chills was the look on the terrorist bomber's face when he looked at the camera......

What makes Contact a bad film?

I liked "The Arrival" and "Ghosts of Mars". I mean they're not going to win any awards, but they were entertaining.

Didn't care for "Contact". Too much "God".

I liked Contact a lot.

It raises the ongoing issues of religion vs scienice & shows that if alien life did exists, society today cannot handle that fact.

Definitely one of my favorite movies. People that didn't like it were probably looking for an alien to show up, shiny objects, and/or lots of explosions.

This movie had a great premise, great acting, and was well directed.

Although Contact did have two of the three (well, maybe not lots, but at least a big enough explosion).

I listened to Zemeckis' director's commentary and was pretty blown away by the use of subtle CG effects throughout the film.

I think its Gary Busey's kid...he was also in the Frightners with Michael j Fox. Played the killer or some crap like that.

Well, that explains it then... ;)

However, he wasn't quite as freaky as Tim Robbins and his crowd in Arlington Road.

The thing is, majority of the worlds population is religious. But are they religious enough to not be able to accept that alien life does exist?

Guess we'll have to wait and see...
