All the debate and discussion aside... There is one key critical point that everyone seems to be overlooking...

Nothing Saddam does at this point will make one whiff of difference in how events play out.

Within a week or two, the military forces of The United States of America along with Great Britain will attack Saddam's military forces and win this war in a matter of days, perhaps a week at the most.

Saddam will be gone and the Iraqi people will be better off than they are now.

Everything else is just background noise...

Wow, Grasshopper, so very insightful... The 20,000 other Iraq threads didn't really do it for me, but this one; the Mother of Them All! It really puts things into perspective. I appreciate it, so please, keep up the good work. ;)

I'm just making fun of Saddam when he calls this the Mother of all Battles. The Mother of all Surrenders is more like it! ;)

In fact, it will probably take less time to get to Bagdad if they stand and fight. If they surrender, we'll have to feed them, process them, protect them, etc. That would actually take longer than just running over them.

Not true at all. If Saddam willingly showed UN inspectors where he had all his old anthrax or would give them a couple of his mobile weapons labs then he could buy months of time. Instead he crushes 6 old missiles a day and insults all of our intelligence.

No, Hopper is right, nothing is going to stop this war. It's all about Bush's pride now. If he doesn't go in now, he'll look like a fool, played again by Saddam just like his daddy was. That's what it's all about. It's not really about bio weapons that they are SUPPOSEDLY hiding. If it was, we should have to prove that these things actually exist... remember that principal we live by in this country, "innocent until proven guilty"?

So yeah, the war is inevitable, but for all the wrong reasons. So it's not something I can be proud of like Hopper seems to be.

there are tons of other countries where a dictator is in power. Why do they want to remove Saddam? He's pretty predictable. And bah, I'm just fed up with you guys.

You state we should have to prove the WMD exist, France is comfortable admitting they are most likely there, why shouldn't we take their word this time? Besides, the point is the burden of proof is on Saddam, one he accepted and has failed to fulfill.
