Her mom is a white goofy hippy type that's completely liberal and irresponsible. Her father is a black man who left when she was in the 4th grade. She hasn't seen him since. She went to a high school that was mostly white people and all her friends are white. She isn't ghetto by any means. She's very nice - almost too nice. She's a conservative Republican (maybe partly to rebel against her goofy mom..) She basically states that by being normal, she's rebelling.
But, she's pretty hot now.. I met her when she was 95lbs and apprehensive about her weight and almost anorexic (IMO). She was a vegetarian (my friend and I talked her out of that in about 2 days considering we are about the biggest meat advocates ever. Hell.. cows are just meat trees.) She pigged out and was lazy over Christmas break and she put on a few pounds and is hotter than ever. But now, she gets black dudes (so far, it's ONLY been black guys) hooting and hollering at her. They say dumb sh1t like "Hey, can I get your number?" before even trying to start a conversation. Then, they call her a bitch if she says no. She's not the type that appreciates this. She gets harassed at the bus stop, harassed at the gym, basically harassed everywhere she goes. She thinks that it's because she's black that black guys automatically act like they have a claim in her.
Even when I'm with her, it's impossible to keep black guys from hitting on her. I mean.. the cashier at the grocery store hit on her when I was in the isle with her. Ya, I don't act like I own her or anything (just sleep with her), but it pisses me off just because she can't stand it.
Lately, she's been upset about it and refers to them as 'fvcking awesome people'. She says that she hates her own kind and hates the fact that she's half black. She's not necessarily racist - though she knows it's only been black people that seem to target her. She spends about 40 minutes on the bus every day... and almost every day it's black guys hitting on her or calling her a whore or bitch under their breaths the whole trip. I dunno really how to tell her to deal with it or how to cope with it. I'm afraid she's gonna get raped.
I am not racist by any means.. but I don't have a problem picturing what she's going through because I have personally seen it almost every time I go to the mall or anywhere with her.
How the fvck does one deal with this and is there anything I can do to make her feel better or be more prepared to deal with it? Does every black girl have to deal with this?

edit: For those of you asking why I think she is going to get raped, she does a lot of things by herself. She also rides the bus (college town) a LOT. She also walks on campus by herself a lot. It's not merely getting hit on often. She gets bumped and nudged by them, she has been cornered on the bus by one once, she has been followed quite a few times.. A lot of it is more than merely being hit on. I guess I didn't explain that good enough.
edit #2: I posted a crappy picture of her. I don't care what you think of her - that is why I did not ask what you think of her. I sleep with her; not you. Out of 70+ posts, I think I got maybe 2 with genuine advice. She wants me to take a better picture of her because she read the posts and doesn't think you treated her fair. She did crack a joke or two about wondering why she even cares what a bunch of random nergins on the Internet think. I'm still waiting for genuine advice - perhaps from a guy that dated a girl of a different race - or perhaps from a girl that endures something like this herself. If I posted this without a pic, I would have gotten 70+ "pics?" requests. It's not nergins that she's having to deal with..

Having to sit back and watch a friend get harrassed by people because she's freaking hot is hard to deal with, I know. Unfortunately, it's nothing that you can help her with. She's got to learn it on her own or she'll never truly "learn" it. Good luck.
