the most overpaid players in the NBA

You gotta love it that there are people that get paid more to workout and warmup a bench then some of us will ever make in our lifetimes. 😛

<< The Knicks: You could make a good case for all four individually -- plus overpaid and seldom-used subs Harold Eisley and Shannon Anderson -- but this would not do justice to the Knicks as an overpaid team. This is the one place they really mesh as a unit >>

rofl. 😀

Kevin Garnett, Timberwolves ($22,400,000)?

how can you make an argument that he's overpaid?
he deliveres night in and night out.

i'm not a timberwolves fan.
but come on!

Probably because he's the highest paid player in the NBA, and has yet to lead his team past the first round of the playoffs. Hell he's yet to lead his team to at least homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. If they had that, they might have a chance to get to the second round.

Yet another reason I love Hockey. The guys don't bitch and moan about how much they make(most of them anyways), they just worry about being on a team and getting Ice time.

Before he retired this year it had to be Bryant 'Big Country' Reeves 😛 It was something like 6 years 65 millions or something like that.

That article hit it on the head 😛

Cheers,
Aquaman <<<<<<<<< former Grizzlie fan 😛

I'm a huge Laker fan, and I love Shaq, but I wouldn't call him underpaid. He and Kevin Garnett were the two guys that signed the really massive contracts before the new CBA went in effect. Their contracts partly lead to the new salary structure because they were so massive. But, at least the Lakers have gotten something in return for all the money they are giving Shaq, unlike the T-Wolves and Garnett. 😀

I cant believe David Robinson isnt on that list! :Q I know he already had his salary reduced (13M/year to 20M/2 years) but at the levels he performed this year thats way too much! :Q

i think everyone can agree that they are all overpaid.

but as for garnett...
if you were to say that he's overpaid 'cause the team never made beyond the first round...
it is as ridiculous as you putting blames on elton brand for clippers not making the playoffs this year.

garnett gets paid for what he does... not for what the team does collectively.
even at that... i'd say that garnett holds up his end of the bargain in the playoffs.

these salaries are insane. this is why i so choose not to hand over my cash to get seats to these games, teams are just throwing money around, especially the nyKnicks.

When you are the highest payed player in the league, and your team makes it into the playoffs every year, you've got to step up and lead the lead past at least the first round. Kevin Garnett gets franchise money, so much money in fact, that it makes it difficult for the team to sign other good players without going over the luxury tax threshold. So yes, in that respect, he is responsible for what the team does. Elton Brand doesn't make anywhere near the money Kevin Garnett makes, not even in the same ballpark. And Garnett has not been that good in the playoffs. In fact, his playoff averages are under his career averages. And, if you look at what he's done in the regular season the past few years, his playoff averages are way under that.

except for Pavel Bure, Rob Blake, Jaromir Jagr, Eric Lindros etc etc...
