The most liberal city to live that doesn't suck. Where is it?

I like San Fran, of course I can't afford to live there. Sure they're looney, but the food is great, weather so-so. Seattle is nice also.

Honolulu. People like to hate on it, but I've liked it every time I've gone.

Outside the US, I've heard Buenos Aires is really nice too. Not sure how liberal they are, but the art and culture scene is pretty large, so that's a good indicator.

Oregon would be a red state if it wasn't for Portland.

probably. I think there are some other very liberal areas there, but when you hang out on the coasts (you know, where the fun people always live), you tend to expect it to be liberal. 😀

very, very conservative swathes of that state, though.

outrageous prices on everything due to the fact that it's an island. Residents despising mainlanders doesn't help either.

The prices aren't THAT bad. Costco, Walmart etc prices weren't too much different from here. Gas was the one thing that was a bit higher.

And locals mainly despise people who act like entitled a-holes.

It's not perfect, but constant 70-80 degree weather year-round makes up for most of the faults.

I've driven through eastern Oregon quite a bit, and it's hard to wrap your head around how far you can go without seeing a single building. You see all these political maps showing voting by county. Sure Harney county is the largest in the state and as red as they come, but only a few thousand people live there.

Prices are also high on other "liberal" things.
