To you what is the most important thing in life? What do you think would make you the happiest? Are you out to make as much money as you can? Enjoy life to the fullest? Live for a higher power?

Me personally I think the most important thing in life is to be happy, and for me to be happy I think I need to find that right person and start a family with her. Money is very important IMO, thats why I plan to go to law school (hopefully a good decision) but I don't think its the end all to happiness. Ive seen many familys that live on a subpar income (below 50k?) and are perfectly happy. Yes, they might have some stresses but they have each other, and they have food on the table and get by pretty decently even though they can't buy that 3story house the brand new rx8 and top of the line computer.

What are you guys' thoughts on it?

Health. It would suck to be in a hospital all the time. Plus there is shots, pills and other stuff that sucks dealing with medical conditions.

Amen to that.
I've recently become chronically ill which gave me a different perspective of life.
I took health for granted, thinking I could never become sick or injured, and now I view health as priceless.

It's family and health.
Screw money and power. Try enjoying any of that when your lying in the hospital on huge doses of medication and half unconscious.

The subject of happiness is far too broad and complex to be explained in this way. The way i see it though, its a combination of countless positive factors of one's life. People who think that there is a single thing out there that will grand them happiness are chasing a mirage. Money alone, or love alone, or health alone won't make you happy. There has to be balance and harmony between all these things.

Above all else the most important thing in my life is my daughter and her well being. When she is happy, I'm happy. My life may not be the greatest, but if I can make hers better than mine then I will die a happy man.

Honestly, I don't care how much I make, right now I'm going to culinary school and I know that i'm never going to be rich but I don't really care as long as i enjoy what I do and have fun when I'm not at work I don't care how much I make

Agreed, if you place your happiness solely on love or any one thing you're going to be sorely disappointed when you find it because you won't be happy. Happiness is a combination of many little things, putting it all on one thing is just setting yourself up for disaster.

Here are my thing in no particular order:

1) Family & friends
2) Health
3) A decent job

If you have these things, chances are you'll be quite happy.

For me, right now... money - and just about the only thing I still look to succeed at. I think I'm satisfied with everything else at this point in my life. Money can only add to that... I'd love to be able to buy/own/try anything and everything life has to offer. That should make anyone happy just thinking about it.

Money! The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.

agree. health is so important. you dont realize it until something big happens. i had a similar experience. i was bedridden for just 3 days, but not being able to move without pain, not being able to stand up and walk around, not being able to go take a piss properly.... that killed this normally active teen. :|

and friends and family. i live for being around other people, seeing them smile, making them laugh... it gives me a huge lift.
