I'm looking for two fans.. both 120mm, one for the bottom intake and one for the top blowhole.... I will have an 80mm blowing in from the side on the cpu, and an 80mm taking it out the back next to the power supply... i have found a YS TECH 120mm fan that claims 130CFM vs the Sunon 120mm at 90CFM... they both run near the same noise level (Sunon is .5db quieter... 45 vs 44.5)... anyone know of higher yield fans for the same amount of noise or a little more?

thanks

Hehe are you looking to creat a tornado in your case, coz I have 2 of those YS Tech fans and they blow plenty of air. The things can almost hover themselves LOL.

In case you didnt know, the Sunon fans are "loud as a hovercraft" I hav a 120mm, and rarely run it at 12V it is so damn loud. But, they do make a good product!

Sparkle dude, sweet site, like the mod gallery, hopefully I'll have something to add to that eventually )

few quick questions..

1) What paint do you recommend for the outside (metal and plastic(bezel, faceplates))
2) I don't care about sound, how bad would two of those YS tech fans be? They appear to have close to the same decibel range as those SUnons... one in front other on top exhausting..(I also have an 80mm in back exhaust)
3) Should I put an 80mm in the side, blowing on the cpu? I have a globalWIN FOP32-1 on it..... I would have to hassle with a fan on the side of the case, but if it helps, what the hey...
4) Window and light look cool, might wait a bit for those.... probably cost me... 80 to put those in?

THanks for the help bro...

know where I can get a cheap dremel?

the Panaflo L1A puts out 69 cfm with only 30 dba if noise is a concern , if not the YS tech is rated at 131.5 cfm @ 2cooltek

okay, Im not super "swift" with the noise level calculations. How much louder would a 59 DB be than a 45db? And.. 190CFM?!?!? Am I going to blow parts of my motherboard off with that?

thanks

addendum... I cant seem to find this fan online. I've found plenty of delta 120mm fans but they dont sport 190cfm... where did you see it at?

1) i use rutoleum "metallics" they look real kick ass, and sparkly!
2) Not familiar w/the YS Tech, but if they have a similr rating to the Sunons, they should be pretty loud (fortunatly, I only run mine when it is real hot, or when I am playing Q3).
3) if you are going to overclook it, put a fan on the side blowing in!
4) the light should coust you around $35 the window, less than $5 if you use plexi. Total for both mods $45(assuming you have to buy some misc odds and ends).
5) Home Depot and Wal-Mart sell dremels, I think the base kit starts at $49 Best investment you can make. Especially since when you are done everyone you know will want you to do thier case.

Good Luck!

(oh yeah, thanks for the compliment!)

This Delta fan is for sale here in Holland. This is what the description says:
"Delta AFB-120HP
The Best of the Best. The specifications are: a RPM of 4000, a CFM of 190, a Maximal Air Pressure (MAP) of 17.78, and a dB-A of 59. This is a 2-wire version wich connects directly on the PSU. PSU use 2A by 12volt"

Never seen this fan at an other store though...so don't know if this correct, but the store which sells it, is a very well repected store, so I figure they are right.

You should check out this page. It has a nice list of some various 120mm fans and their cfm and noise ratings. DO NOT buy a fan that creates 59dB of noise, that would not be bearable unless you built a very expensive noise-reducing enclosure.

hehe, okay I have two cases, and I am going fan happy. I ordered 2 YS-Techs (131.5 each), 3 80mm(35cfm each), a Mo blo(100 some cfm), and that bigass fan someone mentioned that does 235 CFM... I measured my case... less than 2 CF of air in it... so if I have around 270 CFM of intake, and 300 of outtake... then I will be replacing the air in my case completely, every .4 seconds.. or at least twice a second? Hehe, anyone think that is a bit overboard? BTW, I have a 300Watt power supply and I am running an Abit kt7A mobo, ATI Radeon 32MB DDR, over clocked, 2-45GB Deskstars, a DVD player, and 2 80mm and 2 120mm ys-tech fans in one of the cases... will I have enough power? eh?

Be sure to check how many watts these suckers pull or you might blow your mobo fan headers. Some need to go from the Power supply as some mobos don't give enough juice. No point killing a mobo.

WILD DREAMER did you see the leading edge of the blades. They have big gnarly teeth on them. That is just about the neatest thing I've seen in some time. GOL

Heh I didn't really notice the 'feathered edges' on that bad boy until I took a look at the specsheet. I guess they weren't fool'n when they mention

<< You have to have one of two things to operate this fan-a fan guard, or some more fingers >>

:Q

Better keep the pets away from that one, although the noise from all of those fans would be enough to scare them out of the room :D

yeah baby! 54 decibels :).... and I dont plan on plugging the big guys into the mobo.. that would be .. STUPID :) so Im plugging them directly into the powersupply... how do I know if the powersupply isnt enough though? Will it just not boot? I have am extra 145watt power supply I could mount somewhere else in the clase :)

LOL!!! I have 2 Y.S tech 120mm fans on my Acer HX-08 and theres no way I run them at 12V (running at 5V right now). The noise is unbearable at 12V, infact, I can't imagine that Delta at 59 dBa. Decibel noise level doesn't scale linearly, infact 59DBA would probably sound 2 times louder than the Y.S tech. The Y.S tech already sounds like a hovercraft at full speed.
