Agree on the 458, a stunning creation, even more so in person. Many Ferraris are actually bit wonky in person, but that one just works in every way.
I kind of agree on the cool vs. pretty argument. I saw a Veyron pass through Dallas on some Cannonball thing, and it was truly an awesome spectacle, but "beautiful" is very far from my mind when seeing one. It's kind of why a 68 Camaro SS is righteous, particularly in person with all the noise, fat rear tires, etc, but it's not a beautiful object so much as it's an assault on the senses.
Call me crazy but the final gen 3000GT and the MKIV Supra were pretty beautiful cars (for more common vehicles), even if the 3000GT was junk and the Supra was near perfect if it weren't for those hideous bulging eyes. Both were ahead of their time.
