The more desperate the conservative propaganda machine gets, the more they lash out.

And boy are they getting lazy.

Legacy media have been moving away from the practice of journalism for years, and once Donald Trump arrived on the scene, they abandoned it altogether. The media collectively embraced activism, and the New York Times has led the way.

This is good news for people who havent given up hope and still plan to vote for sanity this year.
PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP HOPE YET!

(I picked MSN cuz it bypasses paywalls and ad-block blocks.)

We always had slanted news stories. But once Rupert Murdoch bought the New York Post, outright lying in news reportage became the norm.

There is no denying that a large part of the populace is titillated by news stories about material excess, sex and ne'er do wells. But the increasing elevation of gossip columnists and celebrity news has definitely altered the focus of newsgathering.

OP, cite the original source of the news story instead of blind linking an aggregator (which you say you did for nonsensical reasons whilst ignoring the entire point of even citing the source) like you're blackangst.

The part you quoted sure sounds lazy on the part of whomever wrote whatever you're linking to. Just sounds like more lazy ass right wingers screaming that calling out their insanity is activism.

Lies in newspapers predated Murdoch existing as a human being. And there's always been gossip column and celebrity news is nothing new. Murdoch sucks, but he's hardly the only one responsible, and if it weren't for people enabling that up and down, from shitty Presidents to average ignorant dumb fucks.

Last month, the New York Times published an article titled “Should Biden Run in 2024? Democratic Whispers of ‘No’ Start to Rise.” The widely read piece wasn’t simply the random musings of a couple of writers who consider President Joe Biden too old to serve. It was a nuclear bomb, one that allowed Democratic legislators, aides, and voters finally to say out loud what most of the country knows to be true: Biden is an awful president.

So... yes he is.
But he's still not as bad as Trump. Failing to meet that hurdle is one heck of a low bar. It could be weekend at bernies and it would still be better than what we had in office.
The challenge rises if someone else takes the Republican nomination. Desantis, anyone?

To me... my mind is still made up. Republicans endorsed Trump. They stuck to him. They endorsed his impeachable actions. They tried damn hard to re-elect him. Policy aside, this is unforgivable. Then if we forget all that and vote just on policy... Republicans offer nothing of substantive value. While I have bones to pick with Democrats, some agreement is still manageable compared to zero agreement. Package it all together and the existential threat that is the Republican Party has no chance in hell of ever being less awful.

Democrats can parade a has-been skeleton around DC, and it will still be more worthy of holding office. Most anything would be.

I heard that dumb fucks are people who hate themselves to such an extent they need to tell others how inferior they are to feel better about themselves. This often happens to children with higher IQs raised by people who are too stupid to appreciate or see their intelligence and belittle them as worthless leaving then needy for such kinds of self affirmations to fill that vacuum left by lack of appreciation. Could that be you?

Fox News has a reason to remain repugnant:

Those three networks are the top maligners of Joe Biden, continually publishing screeds about how this demographic and that group has turned on him, how his approval rating is below that of Putin in some areas of the country and how his own First Lady has reportedly told him to quit.

For those reading this: Look in the mirror. You may not like how Biden has been sabotaged and outmaneuvered by his many enemies and of course, Manchin, but what are you doing about it?

Are you joining in with the ones beating him up all the time? Or do you recognize this decent man is a victim of economic greed, global instability and political thuggery? Are you psychologically abandoning him? Or are you sticking with him and hoping we get a great candidate to defeat the Fascists in 2024.

Because every time I log onto this forum, I get the feeling many of you seem to dislike Biden more and more. So, you'd rather Trump had won?

Tell the truth.

When you split your strength by voting for third party candidates who have no chance of winning a national election, you doom yourself. And everyone else.

Sorry OP, i'm of an age when i can remember the slanted and biased news from the late 60's into the early 70's. It's gotten more blatant over the years and decades, but it's not as if "yellow journalism" hasn't been around a long, long time along with politically biased reporting.

They're desperate for anything to distract from the fact that the former President commited an overt act of treason against the Constitution.
Many people want to believe that the 1/6 insurrection was just a protest or a "dust up," but it was in fact treason. And the actual perpetrators weren't the people who stormed the Capitol (per se), but the former President and minions who organized the attempt to overthrow the Constitutional election process. They like to claim that their spurious allegations of voter fraud justified what occurred (or was the treason), but the simple fact is that all of the Constitutional requirements for the election were met and certified. Thus, the attempt to overthrow that election through violent and illegal means was unquestionably the actual treason.

If he'd committed any crime that could be prosecuted, then why hasn't the Biden Justice Department prosecuted him in the last year and a half? Let alone for a crime such as treason?

Easy answer: because he didn't. The fact that the Democrats had to form such a ridiculous "star chamber" hearing without the input of the Republican Party leadership, appoint a couple of faux republican anti-trump puppets and conduct fake hearings is enough to tells you this is a contrived smear job.

Go ahead and have your little tantrum, pound your little fisties on the ground and hold your breath till you get red in the face, maybe it will help you feel better and forget about how bad the Democrats are doing in the polls and will do in the 2022 elections and the forthcoming 2024 election....... maybe, but i doubt it.

Voting.

And what about the President? He does not have Congress. He can sit and spin for all anyone should care.
Sabotaged...? From doing what, exactly?

I am an advocate for Basic Income, Federal Home Loans, and Medicare for All. Perhaps most of all, reaching for sustainability and life over growth and destruction.
I am also acutely aware that there is nobody in our government who can make any of that exist anytime soon, if ever.
Hell, Biden would be lucky to order a ham sandwich without Manchin objecting. America is funny like that.

Oh look, you're pretending that you actually care about Hunter while defending an overt act of treason against the Constitution of the United States.
Serious question, buddy... after the Republicans win the mid-terms and the '24 elections, how many "leftists" are you hoping they jail and murder for their differing political opinions? You just can't wait for that, can you? Smashing your boot down on the necks of everyone you don't like, enforcing iron rule on those terrible cities that didn't vote your way, bringing back McCarthyism, and sending in the police to lock up "un-American criminals," and to round up "queers" and the homeless for the gas chambers...
Hell, you're jerking off just reading this, aren't you?

Jaskalas,

I hear you and respect your position. But this country is so mean-spirited and hateful these days, anything that smacks of assistance for the downtrodden and helpless will demonized.

I am sticking with Joe Biden even though he should not run in 2024. I am hoping we get a great candidate in 2024.

But I'm hoping Bernie sits home. The dude just cannot win.
Let's all hope that whoever wins in '24 is younger than 70. I'm not ageist, not in any way, but we need a larger percentage of Americans represented than we have now.

You do know that almost 1/2 the elected Government are Democrats? You seriously don't think there's a single one or two or 5 that couldn't run and have a chance of being elected President in 2024? If not, why not? Are the Democrats really that pathetic that they can't produce someone more electable than Biden?

Nope, I accurate portrayed your true intentions. Yaknow, where you hope for govt agents to murder innocent children, revere politicians who call for authoritarian religious rule, and love the former President's son, who dreams that someday he can be like Pinochet and throw people from helicopters because of their speech.
Between that, the 1/6 treason, the antivax and flatearther conspiracy whackjobs, and the Qanon extremists who keep calling for some kind of cleansing storm, you just have to be stupid to keep thinking that the Republican party stands for small govt conservatism, 'cause it doesn't. It stands for authoritarian single-party rule, and revenge against anyone who gets in the way of that.

So exactly what were the people who stormed the Capitol on 1/6/21 trying to do that day, in your opinion? Have a picnic? Throw a party?
No, they were there to overthrow the Constitutional election process, illegally without question, violently if necessary.
Now let's stop and ask ourselves a serious question. Suppose, purely for the sake of argument, that Trump had won the election and that Biden (improbably) had organized "radical leftists" to storm the Capitol, kill Pence, and overthrow the election?
Whoa.. wait... that'd be totally different, right?

And it's that blatant hypocrisy, possibly without the slightest hint of self-awareness, or more probably with malicious intent, that is the source of my "childish putdowns."

Oh, and this.
Joe Biden is NOT a great candidate for 2024. No way in hell.

This. He is not.
He has failed to deliver on key priorities, he's gotten distracted by side issues, and things went to hell on his watch and he's been slow to react.
Inflation, gas prices, bear market not his fault, but he's doing little to ease fears, meanwhile he's been a gaffe machine.

But switching has always been a cluster F, and there is no good candidate to replace him.

Ds are a disaster policy wise and with their bench of talent, only saving grace is that Republicans want criminals that will the democracy, so they have a chance.
