Well, I didn't hate it that much, but like everyone else said, VOCALS ARE DRY. And the subject matter has been played to death by every pop singer, but hey, ya gotta start somewhere I guess.

At least this thread got me a new sig. :)

That first song really sucked.

The second song sounded like an 80's song coming back to haunt us.

Stopped after that because I couldn't take it anymore.

Why don't you make it a few keys higher. Good job on the harmonizing, but lower your voice volume. Try to make it more dynamic, (build up on chorus, etc...) it's the same volume and intensity the whole song, so that's why people are saying it sounds dry. Try to add more background music too. It will sound better with some reverb on your voice too.

Well... It wouldsound better, but you need to work on other issues before you head into a recording studio. (Like getting more confidence in your singing, etc. You can tell you're "nervous" when singing to the recording. Studio tricks help, but not THAT much.)

Just for reference, you can make pretty damn good recordings at home these days. You just need to learn how to do it and learn some recording techniques. Spend a little money on some better software (and maybe some hardware) and then spend a LOT of time over at HomeRecording.com and things will start sounding better. It takes time and practice and energy. My recordings have gotten a LOT better than they were when I first started recording at home.

At this point, you'd be wasting money going into a recording studio.

Pretender, glad you at least got a signature out of this. ;) (Of course, you didn't cite the source, and I was really looking forward to the fame involved in creating your signature. :D)

I agree with what most people said...someone back though said that It's Gonna Be Me has a fast tempo...actually, all of my songs are faster than it. It's gonna be me is roughly 82 bpm I think, even my slow song, All I Want, is 95....The Girl is 130, and The Only One is 115....so they aren't slow tempos, the beats just suck :) Oh, and I was exaggerating about the 10x better in a recording studio thing....it would be better, but not THAT much.

i was thinking.
maybe for producing you should try fruity loops. (the demo can be found anywhere and is really good. it has some drum and bass lines and you can do some cool synth things if you really have time to work on it.

just something you might like to try.

*kat. <-- maybe?

Fruity is cool. You also may want to look into Acid by Sonic Foundry. It's a great program with an easy learning curve. I use it for the background tracks in all of my recordings.

After reading all the responses in this thread, it is clear to see that we are very, very nice people. The flaming that went on in the single thread made me cry.

For instance, one person stated that their computer actually crashed itself to make the music stop playing. Another person stated that they formatted their hard drive - just to make sure that they had no remnants of deeko's "music".

I now have washboard abs thanks to the humourous responses. I thank you and so does the woman!
