Browsing on a phone/pda has been lackluster at best since it's been introduced. Apple took a big step forward with Safari for the iphone, but it's still missing flash support. Content providers have helped by making mobile sites/portals, but its far from the 'real' internet. A new browser is promising to change all that. Skyfire will be released for Windows Mobile (beta comming soon) and symbian after that. according to the demo, it has built in flash support. And best of all, it will be free! The reviews I've seen so far have been pretty positive. Hopefully, if this works like the demo, this is gonna be the browser of choice for me.

I'll probably try it when it's out, but nothing beats Safari. The lack of flash doesn't bother me at all.

Firefox seems to work pretty well on the Nokia N800/N810 with OS2008 (it supports Flash 9, BTW). ;)

I think the major issue is that many phones don't have much under the hood, and flash needs quite a bit of processing power to render video and games. YouTube videos weren't very playable on the N800 until Nokia released the OS2008 upgrade, which overclocked the processor from 330MHz to 400MHz. Even at 400MHz videos can get kind of choppy, but performance is *much* better than it was.

Some of the WM standard phones (and a few of the wm pro) run omap 200mhz processors, but for the most part, cpus on most mid to high end phones are in the 300-400 mhz range, with some stand alone pdas at 624mhz. Also, there are software solutions to oc'ing a phone. Plus, phone screens arn't nearly as nice as your n800 screen :-(

uhhmm, did I say "nothing will beat safari"? When I say "nothing beats safari", my post indicates the present time which means that nothing in my experience beats safari right now.
