you know why the military requires very short hair right?

it's for when you're in combat the enemy can't come upon you and yank you hair around and do whatever.

Lol. Ummm no. It's to prevent head lice and other parasites as soliders sometimes go a month or more without a bath.

Yea um they'd definately hate me cause my hair grows REAL fast.
 
while in basic training they buzz all of your hair off. Once you get out of there you can choose the style you want, as long as it
a)doesn't exceed 1 1/4" in bulk
b)tapered appearance
c)no "flashy" styles
d)no weird hair colors
e)NO HAIRS TOUCHING YOUR EAR

of course that is what the air force wants, not sure about the other services
 
they shave your head at the beginning of boot camp

and i think we got another hair cut half way through
 
At Army Basic Training (which I just got back from), they buzz your head the first day (btw, you have to pay for it) as well as about every 1.5-2 weeks throughout training.
