The fact of the matter is, those doing their jobs in the WTC did NOT ask to be killed. However, those that enlist in the military knew the risks, and took them. They are very brave people, and I respect them dearly.

DING DING DING why can't some people understand that soldiers get killed it is a job hazard. Were the WTC deaths Soldiers? No. My good friend shipped out for Iraq Wednesday. He was out of the military but reinlisted after seeing his 1st child born. He wants her to live in a safe world. And he is willing to pay the ultimate sacrafice to do so for his child and YOUR children too. 😀

It is not Diminishing the Deaths they are doing what they are paid to do, trained to do, and in many many cases are proud to do.

My boss has a cousin come back from Iraq to get killed in a car accident last week. People Die everywhere! A shame yes but regardless of the circumstances they will never see him again.

I dont really like to spew liberal rhetoric or buzzwords but due to the fact that I am 19, the reinstatement of the draft has been at the back of my mind for some time now.
50 year olds are being called into combat....we are trying to pass legislation to allow women in forward fire teams...but bush says he has enough people to fight the war? D:

realistically its not like it could "just happen" overnight or something, and whoever pushed for it would become extremly unpopular from some groups.. but i really wouldnt trust a promise from bush anymore.

if i was drafted tommorow I would not go, if the current situation is as it is now. I am not a hippie, I am not a pussy... but I would not go. I would serve this country proudly and voluntarily in almost any other conflict (maybe save vietnam...although i ran my birthday and I would have actually avoided the draft, had i been alive). perhaps if there was some other development or if we really needed help (...moreso) then perhaps...but as it is...fck it
