that alone wouldn't be so bad. but unfortunately these people tend to feel it necessary to scream and whistle and cheer through the whole movie, annoying the normal folks in the crowd.

let me repeat. yoda is NOT REAL. he should NOT be your HERO. shut up and let other normal humans enjoy the damn movie.

nah, its only the matrix, now for LOTR.... well I didn't have time to put on a costume, but I did wear my shirt that I picked up at theonering.net and was second in line for the midnight showing

FYI, The Matrix Reloaded is getting some pretty ho hum reviews. I bet it'll disappoint a lot of people in the same vein as Star Wars: Episode I did...

this reminds me of PCU when Gutter is wearing the band shirt of the band he's going to go see later on that night...

Droz (Jeremy Piven): What's this? You're wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see? Don't be that guy.

i dont care really, as long as they dont make noise and disturb me watching the movie, i could care less. and yes, they probably will be laughed at and insulted. and prolly by me. but oh well. but then again, its the matrix, not like its a midnight showing of the rocky horror picture show or something.

You've got to be kidding? Your the type that ruined opening day for movies like Star Wars and LOTR, and now you're going to do this to the Matrix as well?

I'll go out of my way to go to a theatre who has a policy that you have to dress normal to avoid freaks like you.

Yeah but what will you be going as for the movie?
that was not funny. not one bit.

/me offers you the blue pill from the antidepressant bottle. I'm no prophet, but I'm guessing this journey ends when you find where you lost your sense of humor. Good luck, fellow traveler. May light brighter than a mere moonbeam guide you in this world of darkness in which you tread.

Is there any difference in costume if you go as either Agent Smith or a generic agent?

Well, Smith in the new movie doesn't have the earpiece thing, and his shades are different. That's really about it.

As to all of you who feel the need to put other people down - Self-esteem issues? Didn't mommy hug you as a child? Or was your Daddy not around when you needed him?

You're geeks. If you're here, let's face it, you love computer hardware/software. That in of itself is often enough reason for you to be ridiculed by others - And yet, you still feel the need to insult people that are geekier in different ways? It's really sad on your part. I feel worlds of pity for you all.

As to those who have legitimate gripes with people ruining the movie by hollering/screaming/clapping/etc during the movie, I'm not one of those guys. I'm the guy who goes berserk when people do that. I'm dead serious when I say that anyone talking during the movie will recieve one warning before I personally drag them out of the theater.

Poll results show a good 20 people or so plan on going in costume - Who are you? What have you put together? Any pics? And why haven't you posted something in the thread yet?

I'll need to agree, it wasn't funny at all... and i'm drunk.

I have nothing else to add except that yes, that was painfully unfunny. Please avoid making "jokes" in the future. That's all.

Well, at least SOMEONE is getting in the spirit of things. I think you're the first person to semi-admit they'll go semi-in costume.

Any other takers have some balls?

FYI, the original Matrix got some ho-hum reviews. Most critics didn't possess the necessary brain pan dimensions to understand the movie on its first run through. I remember a local major newspaper critic saying something along the lines of, "I didn't get why one moment, Keanu had hair and was living in this normal sort of place, and the next moment, he was bald all over and hooked up to a weird machine." The irony was, the best reviews I read at the time came from the local free magazines that usually only rate Art flicks highly.

Frankly, I'm just jazzed because this will be the first action movie since the original Matrix that looks like it'll actually be in the same league as Matrix.

Ask yourself - Since March of 1999, have there been ANY other smart yet extremely badass action movies out that came anywhere near to matching the intensity and intelligence of the Matrix?

Take it easy guys. Dressing up to watch scifi movies is no stranger than dressing up for a sports game. And that happens every day.

That's one of the most rational thoughts in this thread. I hadn't even looked at it like that.

Actually, I didn't do it for either of those. Not a Star Wars buff, and though I love the LOTR, I don't love it enough to go in costume.

But the Matrix? F*ck yeah. Without hesitation.
