The Man Who's Arms Exploded

Ah, so that's the guy's name. Did they literally explode? Or just rupture inside his skin and turn to nasty goo?

Yeah, that is Gregg "the oilbag" Valentino.

In addition to taking ungodly amounts of steroids his true path to fame was injecting Synthol oil into his muscles on a regular basis. He is as big a joke as chicks who have basketball-sized breast implants and proof that some people are too stupid to live, lol.

He was reusing his own needles (so bacteria where growing in them) and one of his biceps got infected. He had a hematoma (sp?) and instead of going to the doctor he tried to fix it himself. After 2 cups full of blood & puss.......... he decided to go to the emergency where he had surgery.

Later on he was arrested for selling steroids....... went to jail......... lost his wife & kids (he cheated on her).......... his girl friend OD on Heroin....... he lost his business (a gym) and everything he owned.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Yep, stupid like I said, lol.

The show also featured other people who use steroids ..... and one guy who used ghb and gave himself a stroke.

Cheers,
Aquaman

I've read an interview on him before, and I don't think he's stupid. Weird and eccentric? Yes. Stupid, not really.
He knows what he's doing is making him a freak, and HE WANTS IT. Not everyone wants practical and boring lives to fit in.
If he thought he was cool by making himself like that, then yes, you would be right, he's stupid. But the fact is, he doesn't.

FYI, that for most people is the definition of stupid.

Exactly

They made an interesting point of equating the mentality of body builders to that of people with anorexia. They both look at themselves and despite how paper thin or extremely built they are, all they see is a body that's not good enough. Makes perfect sense, really.

There was a thread about this guy a long, long time ago.

I liked how he videotaped himself trying to drain the blood from that massive hematoma, as if that was something to be proud of.

link to that vid?

The show itself was an interesting watch... but the "ZOMG TEH MAN WHUZE ARMS ESHPL04D3D" thing before & after every commercial break made my eyes roll. Ah well, I guess they have to keep the knuckle-draggers interested for ratings these days, I miss the days of actual documentaries on Discovery & its sister channels, not shows where everything of any size has to be compared to x number of football fields so the common man can grasp it, etc.

Watch the documentary.

What's this synthol oil supposed to do? Does it actually make muscle? Or just make you bulge in the right place kind of like a collagen injection? Either way sounds like some nasty stuff!
