NBA
- Nobody tries at all until the 4th quarter (arguably the last few minutes of the 4th)
- Defense? Does it even exist anymore?
- The "Seld-Entitled, Whiny Asshole" factor seems to be increasing exponentially
- No parity at all. First round of playoffs is a complete joke

MLB
- You don't need 30 seconds to think about that last foul tip, nor do you need 30 seconds to walk around the mound playing with a powder puff while licking your fingers
- NL: Get your head out of your ass and stop making the pitchers bat. Nobody else does it anymore. It's time to stop.
- Salary cap. As an O's fan, you can figure out why I want this
- Games that take over 3 hours are NOT entertainment.

NHL
- Can we go back to the goalie equipment that doesn't increase the size of the goalie by a factor of three?
- Offsides being called on defensive turnovers: Really? You're gonna penalize a team for stealing the puck?

MLS
- There's no hope for you in the USA. I like you, I really do, but it's just not going to happen. I am sorry.
- Only good thing going for you is the games are short

NFL
- Quarterbacks are not made out of glass
- Pass interference called if you look at a receiver
- Prevent defense should be outlawed
- Commercial breaks during commercial breaks

Too much thuggery in the NHL also. Some people love Olympic hockey and dislike NHL. Can you guess why? Olympic hockey doesn't put up with thug bullshit and cheap shots. Play the game.

You really like soccer? :p - Ah well, it's fun to play anyways. Your argument against the NBA isn't too strong. Sounds like you're on the money for MLB though.

NFL - 10 seconds of action, 2 minutes of commercials...rinse repeat

It could cease to exist and I would not care.

Agree with the first, couldn't disagree more with the second, it adds a whole set of strategic decisions for a manager to make.

As an old lifelong Orioles fan (even have a picture set some place of the 64 World Series team) I know that it is an idiot named Angelos, not the salary cap, that is killing the Orioles.

I don't have a real issue with the current game length, I believe it comes in at just around 3 hours which is not really any longer than an NFL game.

NHL
- Can we go back to the goalie equipment that doesn't increase the size of the goalie by a factor of three?
- Offsides being called on defensive turnovers: Really? You're gonna penalize a team for stealing the puck?

I enjoy watching NHL Hockey, my only real complaint is the changes they made to the overtime rules. Soccer can join the NBA for all I care about it.

NFL

I really see no reason to "outlaw" the prevent defense, if it works for a team they win but they can also get burned playing the prevent so it works both ways.

What do you mean by prevent defense in NFL?

Agree with you on NHL & NFL for the most part. Dont really care about other sports.

NFL:
Change OT rules

College Football:
Get rid of BCS and add a playoff

edit:
Almost forgot:
NHL: Figure out a way to eliminate the neutral zone trap

NHL season is also too long as well as the MLB season

I don't think people who really enjoy the sport care much about the length. I love that the NHL season goes from october to april, and then the playoffs from april to june. Gives me something to watch after football season is over until summer when I can enjoy the outdoors again.

I thought they did change the rules for goalie equipment a year or two ago. It might still be bigger than in the past, but I thought they made them cut it back at least a little.

You would think with all the crazy materials they have now that they could make pads the same size as 20 years ago, but with just as much strength as they have now.

There's a commercial currently running that talks about greatness and Gretzky. The size of the goalie's pads are awesomely small, haha.

Regulated? The regulations were changed to make them bigger, so they can certainly go back if they wanted to.

I'm not putting the pipe down, it's 4/20 ya idjut

NHL
- Offsides being called on defensive turnovers: Really? You're gonna penalize a team for stealing the puck?

The only way that can happen is if the puck leaves the defensive zone and comes back in. Getting the puck out of the defensive zone is a pretty critical part of defense in hockey. Understanding the offsides rule is a large part of understanding why hockey players do what they do.

So the team is not being penalized for stealing the puck, they're being penalized for failing to keep the puck in their offensive zone.

-Good QB's = more money for the NFL, they're trying to protect their investment I guess (lame). QB's also get treated like little kids and they get what they want (See Eli Manning, John Elway, etc). Tough QB's are hard to come by these days.
-What I think sucks though is the 5-yard rule, if that's what you had in mind. Lame rule, say hello to today's good QB's destroying every legitimate passing record known.
-No comment :p
-Agreed.

NBA -

Its becoming way too thugish, it was nuts in Dallas when the All-star game was here
It really does not matter until the 4th quarter unless I team is just getting smoked at the end of the 3rd.
Too many damn fouls and foul draw plays.

MLB-

Agreed, NL get with the program.
No Salary Cap really sucks.
Too many games, but that is not a bad thing if you like to follow every game.

MLS-

Its just never gonna take off, the top 4 are just in a league of their own.

I'll just do the NHL:

WAY too many teams make the playoffs. It makes the six-month regular season meaningless. The only thing separating the 54-15 Capitals from the 39-33 Canadiens is a single home game. That's rediculous. Re-arrange the league into 2 conferences with 2 divisions each. Top team in each division makes the playoffs. That's it. Everyone will complain, but if you did this you would see regular season games played with the passion of playoff games.

Get rid of fighting and cheap shots. It's a stupid distraction and it's not part of the game. This has nothing to do with physical play or toughness. Look at Zach Parise, Jarome Iginla, and other guys that play about as tough and gritty as you possible can, but don't generally fight. The NHL has already gotten rid of line-brawls and bench clearing brawls, this is just the next step.

So you're saying you want 4 teams in the playoffs instead of 16? You're only saying that because NJ always gets knocked off by a low seed every year ;) If anything, keep it the way it is now, but take the top 6 from each conference instead of top 8.

I think this is the best solution. 2 teams from each conference get byes and are actually rewarded for having the best regular-season records.
