Heres a picture of mine

Alpha18V2832S.jpg

It doesn't show the exhaut or intake ducting though. Of course, it is turbocharged

I just draft the areas around the engines so I don't have any specific info, but on the biggest one I had seen so far (V-16 turbocharged, running on the natural gas its compressing) had i think 3kish HP according to the operator, but no clue on how reliable that is, lol

Man it is cool hearing the starters on those things go off though

I am desiging standard power plants for MAN Diesel Canada. We get all the small-bore engines.

The main one I posted is 18V 28/32 (V-18, 28 stroke, 32 bore) 4050kW running on either LFO or HFO.

I won't ever get to see a part of it though because we don't build them here. All engine building is done in Germany, India, Sweden.

Most of our clients are central/south America

I wish I could drop that in my Accord. I could finally beat that 'Vette in the 1/4....

Lame, who cares about 1,000,000 lb-ft at 100 RPM if you can't even do 15,000 RPM?

the two stroke engines go up to 79 megawatt but i dont know how many people actually buy two stroke for power plants

usually they use the 2 stroke for the marine applications because they are so massive

Pretty sure the pics above are used for a container ship.

I was just referring to the two-stroke engines my company produces. They produce mostly for ships and otherwise for power plants (for 2 stroke)

how come they aren't 4 stroke engines? i'm guessing mass and valvetrain losses?

50 S2000 i4s end to end on one big crankshaft

oh yeaaaaaaahhhh

Personally I find it far more interesting to think about extremely high hp/size engines (motorcycle)

How about 50 1098 engines all connected together going from 3000-11000 rpm..

I'm working on a 3,000 hp engine but it's a turbine. It weighs just a little bit less than those diesels you're talking about though.

Our main ones that we deal with in my office are 4 stroke (for power plants). 4 stroke also in boats but not from this office.

2 stroke mostly ends up in the boats unless you can build it on site (not typical).
