The Seahawks lost reigning MVP Shaun Alexander indefinitely after X-rays revealed a small crack in his left foot.

Alexander missed two days of practice last week because of the foot injury believed to have been sustained during a tackle in the Arizona Cardinals game in Week 2. Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, who announced the injury Monday, wasn't sure which part of Sunday's game against the Giants that Alexander suffered further injury to the foot.

Holmgren isn't sure how long Alexander will be out but it's possible he could miss a month. Holmgren said Alexander's injury is a non-displaced fracture of the foot.

Maurice Morris will be the starter in Alexander's absence. The Seahawks have a bye week following Sunday's game against the Bears in a matchup of 3-0 teams.

Alexander rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown in Seattle's 42-30 victory over the New York Giants.

He looked a little off. I think most guys would take 47 yards and a TD even without a broken foot, though.

Its fvcking BS.
One of my fantasy team is over and its only the 3rd week.
First D Davis and now Alexander.
Losing Davis hurt but I had McGahee but now its over for me.
This freakin sucks.

He is only going to miss like 3-4 games (bye week included). Keep him on your bench and just be patient.

I rather him miss the early games than the later games when most of us will be in the fantasy playoffs.. Who knows, in the second half, he can put up LJ-like #s (from last year)

Also, Warner is out and Leinart will start his first NFL game this Sunday. Nothing to do with the madden curse, but big FF news.

well crap. now when the bears pwn seattle on sunday, there will be a big "what if"
