When my car got hit and was in the shop last year, I decided one day to walk the 12 miles home instead of taking the bus. This is not a good idea on a 90 degree sunny day, carrying your work and gym bag.

loads in europe -
one in particular was when we walked from my hotel in paris to the eifel tower, then to the southeastern part of paris, back to my hotel in the northeastern....so like 15-18 miles?

In high school we walked from downtown Vancouver to Coquitlam (a suburb of Van), which is approximately 30km. The buses had stopped running and all we had for cash was bus fare, so we walked all the way home.

Walked? I have no idea. The longest I have run-- In training for a marathon (Which I ended up not running) I ran 15 miles on my long days (I hadn't built up to the 20 mile long runs yet)

fifteen miles. me and my brother wanted to see how far we could make it. we made it from dalhart, tx to hartley, tx which is fifteen miles. we then decided to call it quits, and called our uncle that lived there. we were 13 and 14, and our parents were fumed!

now i routinely offroad on my bike 17 to 18 miles.

~22 miles, but I jogged the first half then walked the second. I actually made it fine the first half jogging at a pretty decent pace for 11 miles, but then I stopped for like 5 minutes to get a drink of water and use the restroom and when I got back up my legs were rock freaking solid, so I walked the rest of the way.

Looking back, she really wasn't worth it.

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked 1000 miles
To fall down at your door

My roommate and I decided we really wanted Don Pablos during Freshman year of college. We walked a total of 10 miles round trip and were so hungry when we got back that we stopped at Wendy's. For Purdue people, we walked from Shreve to Don Pablos on 26 by 65. We never attempted that again.

I'm sure I've gone on longer hikes but this is the one that immediately springs to mind.

26.x miles at Devils Lake State Park in Wisconsin. I was a Cub Scout way back then, we were doing a hike but the trails we wanted to use were out of commision due to rain/rock slides I guess... so, we had to take alternate trails, it ended up being much longer then we wanted. That was a long walk.

14.5 miles per day for 12 days last August with 40lb pack. Tahoe Rim Trail. WOW what a trip. JMT is next.

Feet are not flat. What is that anyway?
