People really go ape shit when these dudes release videos. Even when they aren't funny they go viral for some reason.

It's no mystery:
1) SNL connection
2) Good production value (professional) for both video and music
3) Catchy lyrics or phrases
4) Random celebrities
5) Sophomoric appeal (not that I'm knocking it really, but it is what it is)

Take those into account, you can see why people share the videos over social networks.

This is one of the least funny songs ever, I don't get this kind of humor at all. I would be surprised that this is so popular but people like Dana Cook. So really you don't have to be funny to be a comedian, or to be popular either.

I love this song. It's funny to break it out in the middle of parties. So damn catchy.

1) SNL hasn't been funny to me in years.
2) Anyone with a little money can make a decent production video these days. It's not that uncommon.
3) Catchy lyrics or phrases? If "I'm on a boat is a catchy phrase", again I don't understand.
4) Random celebrities...Michael Bolton? :p
5) Moronic appeal is more like it.

I think people are just riding on Andy's dick because he filled a "goofy comic" hole in SNL where Adam Sandler previously was. I've never liked those digital shorts.

But a lot of young people do, so maybe I'm just old and grumpy now
