be more specific.
is it decompressing files? why not decompress them on the hard drive to decrease the loading time?
is it copying files to memory? what takes so long to copy to memory, i thought this would take a few milliseconds at most
 
You know how if you open up a word document it may take a few seconds? Well this has to open alot of files including pictures to complete the map and documents telling it where to place everything. It also has to open the game's engine which is probably a REALLY BIG file.
