eh... people like that aint people like me... dont get me wrong, i drive just as fast (if not faster) than most people... but I know how to control my car, and my anger, so someone who's doing 5 miles slower than me doesn't cause me to have a mild coronary

While I'm only 20, after 4 years of driving in the sh!tty traffic here, I've had enough.

I don't flick off everyone, only the REAL bad offenders. They get the full brunt of my wrath.

My pet peeve has got to be people who take their time in the left turn lane. Left turn lights are very short and your car WILL NOT flip over if you go faster than 5 mph in a turn!!

leave earlier. ;)

i can't stand when people say.. i gotta speed and flick everyone off cuz i'm late for work.

SET YOUR ALARM CLOCK EARLIER! sheesh.... poor time management skills are your fault, not someone else on the road's fault.

You just hit a nerve. I'm shaking with agony now. This is my biggest pet peeve, tied with people not giving right of way at a 4-way stop. These problems are a root cause of people being inconsiderate of others.

If there is a line of 30 cars taking a left and the light is green for 20 seconds, is it too much to ask that people accelerate quickly and try and get through a lot of cars? I think its not.

my reply wasn't direct at you per se... but rather those who get flaring angry and violent and curse because someone isn't driving the way you want them to. IE: driving 150mph, cutting everyone off, slamming the accelerator (which KILLS your tranny) when the light turns green.. .you name it..

it was directed to those morons.

(but if that describes you.. well.....)

Talking semantics here, but your statement above indicated that you were referring to everyone including me that wrote what annoys them. Whether I think your comment applied to me or not is irrelevant. Please be clearer in your future trolling. :p

<< What I really love (and I saw it this morning on the way home) are the drivers that speed up to stoplights, pump the brakes but never come to a complete stop, and then look at everything around them but the light until after it's been green for about two minutes. Fing pisses me off. They're in such a hurry to step on the gas, but they don't even pay attention to the light!!!!! Morons >>

I heard that they are so impatient and they pull like halfway into the intersection and when the light turns green they just sit there!!!! Maybe they are so far up that they cant see the light?

My biggest road rage rant is when people do something that is thir fault but they give you a dirty look when the are the jacka$$ that doesnt know how to drive!~

I see where you're going with this, guyver01, but being a slow, friendly driver is NOT always the best thing. Here's an example.

Quite often I see people stopping their car to let pedestrians cross the road where there IS NOT a crosswalk. The people waiting to cross the road, are obviously planning on jay-walking and were simply waiting until the road was clear to do so (we've all done that before). But these 'slow', 'friendly' drivers think it would be nice to stop and let these people cross the road, simply because they're waiting on the side.

As you are probably also aware, when someone is making a left turn off a single lane road, and there is oncoming traffic, the majority of people will drive around them on the right hand side. Everyone does this.

Well, one of my friend's fathers was the 'slow', 'friendly' driver who stopped to let a lady cross the road in front of him where there was no crosswalk. A car thought he was making a left turn, and went around him on the right hand side, didn't see the lady crossing and killed her. Now you can easily see that if my friend's father didn't stop for this lady, she would probably still be alive today. Very sad but true story.

so guyver you think that everyone should just lull around town talking on their cell phones and drinking cappucino and eating a doughnut in their huge @ss land tanks and go like ten miles an hour swerving and sitting through 3 green lights because there are no morons to tell the real moron to go since they dont understand how a traffic light works.

I agree with you that you dont need to be so aggressive but sometimes people are paying absolutely no attention to what they are doing. They seem to forget that 6000 lbs of steel is deadly and instead do everything except drive. Now most of the time i can control myself and am not too aggressive but every once in a while someone just touches a nerve with me. Hell i have even almost been hit by a lady in an explorer on the freeway while she was swerving lane to lane and i just put my car in third gear and blew her ass away shaking my head. i didnt honk or flip her off. I think that most of these people are just doing what relieves their stress from bad drivers. personally all i need to do to relieve mine when i am almost killed or my property is damaged by some moron is just downshift and listen to my silky smooth engine blast by the offender at 8000 RPMs but that is just me. other people have different ways to vent their stress.

You don't check your stuff before leaving the window? Don't you know? "They frak you in the drive-through!"

You have to be careful who you correct about their awful driving. I was driving on the highway and for about 10 minutes these jerks were behind me with their brights and their fog lights on. Finally I couldn't take the glar in my mirrors anymore, so I slowed down to let them pass and then flashed my lights at them. They kept their brights on, so I left my brights on for about 30 seconds and sped up so they'd notice.
This was a car full of 5 jocks, as I later discovered, and most of them turned around and looked at me when I put my brights on, but none of them seemed to get the clue, their brights stayed on.
Oh well, I tried. My exit's coming up and they get off at the same one, I end up in front of them at the next light, they're shouting something out their window (couldn't tell what, my windows were rolled up). They followed me for a while, aggressively (I sped up, they sped up, I slowed down, they slowed down...), it seemed obvious that they were looking for a fight or something, so I pulled into a parking lot near my place (don't want them to know where I live), and parked. Sure enough, they park close to me and start getting out of their car and walking towards me.
Now, I am not a stupid person, I know that I would have little chance against 5 jocks unless I ran them over with my car, which I would rather not do. I would also rather not have them beating on my car. So I wait until they're good and out of their car and then I slam into reverse and take off, it took them long enough to get back into their car that I was able to lose them in the meantime.

So I guess that's the last time I'll flash my lights at anyone for having their brights on.

I wonder how many consumers when buying a new car, ask the salesman to knock off some money because they did not ask for that stick on the left side of the steering column. :disgust:

Hmm, two highway merging pet peeves:

#1 ) When highway is NOT bumper to bumper, people driving to merge onto the highway need to accelerate to at LEAST the speed limit (and perhaps a bit higher) so they can be at the right speed to merge onto the highway. (I'd have thought that was common sense, but, it never fails that some old fart drives up the onramp doing 25MPH and then has a panic attack when they can't merge onto the highway.

#2) When bumper to bumper traffic (stopped) on a highway, it should be the rule that cars in the right lane let one car in front. Cars in the mergelane wait their turn to get in. In NO CASE should a car accelerate and pass 20 cars in the breakdown lane to cut someone else off ahead.

If you don't like letting people in front of you (merging onto the highway) then stay out of the right lane.

Not difficult is it? So why do people not do it?

I don't get as mad when someone is sitting at a light not noticing it, but the ones that are staring forward and don't go piss me off.

I'm like "What? Are you waiting for it to turn Purple?!?"

I hate the people that accelerate really slow. Like, 15-20 seconds to get up to the speed limit on a regular road. I also hate when two cars sit right next to each other that wont let you pass them. I drive 10 over the limit. That's just how I do it. Don't sit next to each other going 5 below the limit.

<<lets all say it together.... serenity now.>>

Serenity now...insanity later. More on topic, the only thing that really bothers me is when people aren't in control of their vehicle, or are oblivious to the world around them. I don't give a rat's butt if you're talking on a cell phone as long as you're maintaining proper control of your vehicle and awareness of the world around you. Of course most people, myself included, cannot do this and should recognise that they cannot. Basically it's the little things that everyone should know, like if a semi is trying to get back into the slow lane let him in don't start a chain of cars passing him on the right, and the left lane is for passing, it's not the fast lane, if the right lane is clear for the next five miles, don't stay in the left lane. The big stuff like trying to merge into my car I usually let go with just a warning tap on the horn to say "hey, there's a car here".

Ah yes, I saw a couple great points by lo5750ul. Use your signals! I'm teaching my son how to drive right now. The last time we went out, I told him:
  1. I should NOT have to tell you to stay in your lane
  2. I should NOT have to tell you to use your signal
  3. I should NOT have to tell you to look before changing lanes
I told him that signaling is as much for courtesy as safety. I always point out people that don't signal and how it effects other motorists.

Pulling too far up in an intersection is REALLY stupid and inconsiderate. Especially in the left turning lane. Oncoming cars that are making a left have to slow down and cut a sharp corner to clear your lame ass. At least stay behind the line and maybe give a little more room. Why not? Also, don't block drives. Let people get into the drive as well as out. Helps cut down on gridlock for oncoming traffic. No, it doesn't help you, but WTF, make somebody else's commute a little easier.

dman6666 had a great point about merging onto the freeway. Get up to speed and beyond before trying to merge. It's a hell of a lot easier to slow down to merge than to try and speed up. I try to get my old tank up to at least 70MPH by the time I hit the bottom of the ramp and I'll tell my son the same thing.
