SWEET! my Macro Lens has arrived, Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 Macro, makes me almost forget how pissed i was that my keyboard Broke Last Night

anyway here are a few test pics

Check out that DOF, or lack there of

nice and sharp

100% crop of a penny almost full 1:1

IDK what this is but it looks cool

The One Ring

the standard watch shot

part of a flower

if it wasent a downpour i would have taken more pics outside, all were shot with the D70 ISO 200, all but the last one with flash, WB on AUTO processed in PS:CS with cropping, resizeing and levels only

awesome pics! My friend just got a Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX Lens for his Canon 10D and whoa, what a nice lens. I SO want a DSLR(Canon Rebel)....

nice..how good is the nikon 60mm micro compare to your lens? I can get that lens for $300ish. I think both should be about the same sharpness wise, but I will have to stand closer to the object?

yes they are both extreamly sharp, IDK if one is sharper then the other or not, BUT i do know that the 60mm is amazingly sharp some say the sharpest nikkor out there and the 105 isnt far behind if not equal (there was just a thread on DPreview about this as a matter of fact)

yes with the 60mm you will have to get a lil closer to your subject, but keep in mind for these shots i was about 10 inches from them, that is still pretty close

there is a 180mm macro and a 200mm one as well but they cost stupid amounts of money

damn i have to admit those are some awesome damn pics!!! and the lens did all that? what was the pic quality before the new lens!?

The pic quality was the same.

The difference is that this is a macro lens.

My cam is only 2MP and can focus down to 2cm in macro mode. 😛

Great pics, Anubis. I've been trying to talk myself into a D70, but I'm not sure I am ready to invest that much $. Would be worth it, if I could do stuff like that.
