The long term risk for the Saudi Royals in a new Mid-east, is that monarchies will increasingly becomes passe. If the Saudis Royals don't catch hell now, they will as soon as they screw up.

The problem that you have is you all think everything will be a hunky dory and grandma`s apple pie for the people of those regions....

Yet you still must contend with Islam and the place it plays in the lives of the people and the government....

Also there are several atiest serving the people one that comes to mind is Representative Pete Stark (D) of California has acknowledged that he is an atheist in response to the Secular Coalition’s inquiry. He’s been in Congress since 1973 ...

Let a non Muslim take office.....whoops....

If they want to avoid a rebellion, then they need to take care of their people. We're seeing this wide spread revolt because these governments took all the resources for themselves and gave nothing to most of its citizens. That can only go on for so long before people have nothing to lose. We've seen this before in history. People will give their life for a chance at freedom if they feel like they have nothing to lose.

but but but you can't just give things to the people. that's evil socialism and is what Obama is trying to do and that is evil. We should be envious of the Saudi monarchy.

Zebo asks, "How long till we get rid of our corrupt pigs? They have names like JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. Not as long as we are fat and happy. Same applies there."

The problem with the Zebo contention is that JP Morgan and Goldman Sacks are not our government, in the case of the Saudi royals, they are the Saudi government.

So it may be an invalid comparison.

And the other thing to point out, if Goldman Sacks or JP Morgan melts down the US economy again, they are not going to get their sad and sorry asses bailed out again.

The long term risk for the Saudi Royals in a new Mid-east, is that monarchies will increasingly becomes passe. If the Saudis Royals don't catch hell now, they will as soon as they screw up.

They don't have to be, they control it. Not to mention quite a few of them are in our government now.

In other words, bfdd is saying nothing in the world ever changes, because the Saudi Royals have been in control for yo many years, they will stay in control forever.

Get em clue bfdd, maybe you should peddle your shit to Mubarak.

And Mubarak can say to the Egyptian people, bfdd says I should be back in control. and if they don't believe it, dfdd will personally dope slap the Egyptian people until Mubarak is restored.

Funny, here we in the USA look at how crazy the governments of Africa, the Mid-east, and ------------------space left blank to insert your favorite region or ethnicity. While the rest of the world are shaking their head in wonder about how fast the USA's government can melt down with our own stupidity. As they watch the pied piper of Washington march straight off the nearest cliff.

As the world watches in wonder as the old order collapses, are they watching Hosni Mubarak, who already melted down, or Governor Mubarak of Wisconsin? The difference between Cairo and Madison is, Cairo is far a more civil place. And rational people in Cairo can discuss issues.
