No love for 'Tyrant'? Anyone watching that show? I thought it was pretty good for summer TV--definitely hitting every Arab/Middle East cliche when it comes to character development (or lack thereof) but still entertaining from a plot perspective.

edit: Also forgot about Dominion--not sure if that's a current series (I picked it up On Demand) but it's a series about angels warring with humans and is sort of a sequel series to the movie 'Legion'.

There are people saying that, but the show continues and I'm glad because it has sparked my interest. When the DVD/Blu-ray comes out I may purchase it. Just like assholes bitching about Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles they only made 2 seasons and that was an excellent show.

I've been watching Dominion and it isn't too bad.
 
I haven't seen The Last Ship. The Leftovers is deadly serious, depressing, and so far doesn't seem to be paying off at all. The Strain had promise but it's generally been really really poor. The Knick is fantastic so far, and given its bloodline (no pun intended) should prove to be one of the best of the current crop of serialized dramas. My vote would be for the Knick, without hesitation. Not surprisingly, since this is ATOT, it's in last place in the poll . . .
 
The Leftovers has gotten to the point I haven't even watched the last few myself personally.

The Knick I haven't checked out yet, waiting on Boardwalk to come back on myself.

Outlander on a side note wasn't bad, but it's more a chick flick looking thing on Starz that just started.

I thought it was better than The Leftovers though honestly in one episode myself, The Leftovers thing has been a lesson in something going nowhere fast IMHO.

I'll be checking out The Knick myself, just haven't yet, and it's brand new.

Well, to be fair, Sarah Connor Chronicles WAS a good show. I'm pretty sure the critics agreed.

The critics are basically in agreement that Under the Dome is, well... meh. It could be far worse - but it could be much better.

It really should not have been turned into a multi-season show, and that effort should have started from episode one. The book wasn't the best book in the world, but it was fun. As usual, things need to be changed for the screen, but they've changed quite a bit, and changed the time frame considerably.

With the way the story shaped up in season 1, I'm glad they were kind enough to make a season 2. I am afraid they will not finish the entire story arc (whatever the hell that is), but hopefully they creators and writers will know when the season is ending so they can wrap it up tidily.
 
Been watching The Leftovers and The Strain and have been enjoying them both.

Jeez the beginning of episode 5 of the leftovers was BRUTAL
 
Leftovers is good but holy hell is it depressing. It doesn't really leave you as "I must watch next week".

The Strain is the slowest show ever. It's finally moving after friggin 6 episodes.

The Last Ship has a cool premise but its a bit corny and had a few filler episodes already out of only 8 this season.

I'm in season 2 and it's a pretty good mystery/cop drama, and not of the 1 story per episode kind. However, the one slightly jarring thing is that since it's shot in Vancouver, it seems like every second Canadian actor on the show has been on Stargate at one time or another.

Finished season 2 of The Killing. The finale of season 2 was good, but looking over season 2, there were probably a few too many twists and turns. A little too strained sometimes, in order to stretch out the seasons.

I've started Season 3 now, but I'm not optimistic. It's still early but somehow the pacing seems off, and the chemistry isn't quite there.

It initially got OK reviews, but IIRC, the critics lost interest in it as time went on, as did a lot of viewers. I actually liked the show, but wasn't surprised at all it got canned.

I'm all about the "Murica kickin' ass and saving the world" genre so I love it. I also liked "The Unit".
 
Another new one I've been watching is "Extant". I don't really care for Halle Berry and I'm still finding it interesting. I know what will happen though - I'll get interested in the story and it'll get cancelled unresolved.

The Unit was awesome. Only bad thing was that they cancelled it abruptly and the ending felt weird. The thing that bothers me about The Last Ship is most people don't make logical decisions and the Americans have invulnerable armor.
