Wow. So after like 15 years of hearing these guys on the radio (I was never a big fan, obviously), I always assumed that the singer was a girl. Never even gave it second thought. But then tonight I was flipping through the channels on TV and VH-1 was playing the video for "Tom Sawyer," so I started to watch it... and then the showed the singer: it's a guy! :Q OMG, that's really weird. I can't believe I never came across that bit of info after all these years. Strange... for those who might not know what I'm talking about, go to cdnow and listen to the snippet of the Rush song "Freewill" and tell me that's not a girl singing.

That really freaked me out... am I the only one? I'm going to bed now, I feel really stupid. :(

Guess you don't listen to rock much...........quite a few of their songs are staples on rock stations. Pick up Moving Pictures, which some say is Ruxh's best album.

And Geddy Lee is a guy, always has been.

Other than a few of their hits on the radio, I haven't listened to any of Rush's music since Hemispheres. I'm a big Rush fan, I've seen them 3 or 4 times in concert (the last being their Hemispheres tour), but I generally like their older music and really haven't heard anything more than a few of the popular tracks from their later releases. I didn't care for Moving Pictures that much; a few great tunes but as a complete album, it wasn't as good as some of their earlier music.

Remember that the music that's playing on "rock" format radio stations these days isn't "rock" music. Rush now seems to fall under ClearChannel's definition of "classic rock"...

Not only that, he's a damn good bass player too (one one ugly looking women)

Now you're just flattering her so you can score. ;)

No, I knew one other in college. He was a different story though. I had to club him to death with his own shoe.

Actually Geddy Lee's voice, aside from the pure musical talent of Rush, is what makes them unique. I couldn't imagine anyone else singing for them; it wouldn't be Rush.
