Hey! You PC gamer, you surely know the trend in video games nowadays. Intrusive and radical DRM methods, lazy and bad ports, minimal to none QC. We're only considered for the sake of milking an old cow named PC gamer.

PC is evil they say!

I still want to let you know that we're still respected as PC gamers. We still have good, passionate people working peacefully on PC titles without fear. Peoples like Crate Entertainment (Grim Dawn), Almost Human (Legend of Grimrock) and Runic Games (Torchlight 2), to name just a few, are still with us and willing to deliver great DRM free/light games.

We're still alive and going well. 2012 sounds great and we should consider these awesome developers since they're making everything in their power to offer us great and quality titles for a fraction of those so called AAAs dumbsters.

Stay strong you!

Wrong, PC gaming is clearly dead, Ubisoft sucks, EA killed my family, everything is DRM, draconian Steam copy protection, Origin, ports, always online, Mass Effect 3 ending, piracy, shill, waffles, Ronald Reagan.

PC is dead to those who closed their minds. Open it just a sec and consider what is offered. "Everthing sucks" is the only thing we hear nowasdays and it's depressing. Think positive, open your mind to something new and you'll see that the futur is brighter than your derrière...

Paradox is awesome too ...
Oooh, and I like the company that makes the Total War Series ... they seem pretty consistant ...
Firaxis Games doesn't release stuff very often, but their titles tend to be pretty solid...

I dislike a lot of the consolizing, "free to playing", and DRMing of games ... but the fact is there are still great options out there :)

I'm afraid your post did not have the required amounts of fearmongering and/or conspiratorial tone. Due to your nearly complete lack of doomsayerness this thread must now be locked.

I'm spending so much time in Star Trek Online and SWTOR right now that I'm neglecting all of my other unplayed PC games. And my poor PS3 is just a blu-ray and Netflix / Amazon player, while the 360 gathers dust.

Luckily Wasteland 2, Grim Dawn and Shadowrun won't be out until next year, so I have plenty of time to get burned out on space MMOs. But I do worry about neglecting my Torchlight 2 and Borderlands 2 preorders.

Did you see Warlock too? Damn this game look completely awesome. A Civ5 mixed with a fantasy theme that seem to have nail'd it!

I pre ordered from Steam for 20 bucks including the first DLC.

There's Stasis to, an isometrical RPG/Adventure game that look really cool!

The future is bright indeed.

Speaking of bright futures, I'm loving the Kickstarter projecting bringing back Wasteland. I can think of a few franchises that should raised from the dead.

Alternate Reality, for one. (From the mid-80s)

This could only be on the PC!

I have no worries about PC gaming. While I generally avoid the so called AAA games, I have never seen so many quality games being released as now. While the AAA games leave a lot to be desired, the smaller studios are putting out some very fun games. I love it, and they are usually cheaper to boot.

PC gaming is still strong. You realize League of Legends, World of Warcraft and Starcraft II alone have about 25,000,000 players? (estimates based on subscriptions and purchases made within the last year) This is just 3 of the many masses of games out there.

All they need to do is make a game for PC and port it over to Xbox or something instead of visa versa. Microsoft also needs to make an Xbox-esque setup for PC that way it is more appealing to console gamers.

I'm completely addicted to Kingdoms of Amalur these past weeks!
Playing everytime I can. Just completed Dead Kel DLC and started Teeth of Naros.

@kyonu: Completely agree that they should develop on PC and port on consoles but they won't do that, not enough $$$ this way.

I bought a Wii when it came out and sold it 4 months later.
Then I bought an 360 4 years ago and sold it after 6 months.

MY PC, always keeping it up to date and never looked back.

Personally, I have been gravitating back to PC games almost to the exclusion of all other games. I have a PS3 and an Xbox 360, and a decent amount of games for each. But more and more I just want to play on my PC. Games are on the whole, richer and more fulfilling, Can be modded, and the control schemes are much better (ahem, where it isn't a poorly thrown together port).

It is my hope that we are seeing something of a renaissance of PC games as the consoles are reaching the practical end of their life cycle.

The Witcher 2 was just ported over to the XBox 360 from the PC.

CD Projekt has it right with TW2. They built their game to take full advantage of the power of currently available PC hardware and then scaled it back for the consoles. But consoles are the larger market. Rather then spend a little extra money in the above process, companies like EA and Activision build it for the consoles and then half-assedly port it to the PC. Sure they save some money but they also lose a lot of sales due to the bug ridden, sloppy mess of a game that PC gamers don't want to play.

Well yeah, there's a couple out there, but they need to do it more.

Like the game Alone in the Dark... Fantastic game, but the controls were HORRIBLE on PC. Skyrim was even a port and it's one of the most successful PC games, and it's controls REALLY need working on (mostly Combat).

Its just a general consensus that they make games mostly on consoles and make the port.

Yeah I forgot about CDProjekt. They are awesome. Just what they did with TW1 and TW2 by literaly giving the EE to all who bought the game, cool stuff!

I'm still happy with PC Games.

No desire to go console.

Been a die-hard PC Gamer since King's Quest III!

KoA:R also had some issues (as far as I was concerned) on the PC as far as control schemes. I never could get running, sneaking, (the lack of) jumping, dodging etc.. down with the KB&M, but once I fired up the Xbox controller, it was much better. I never felt that I was missing anything.

Pity more games aren't more carefully designed for cross platform implementation.

Getting back into PC gaming was the best thing I've done in a while. Higher capital investment but high quality gaming, and I have an incredible catalog that was had at sale prices. I built it ~1.5 years ago and haven't had any issues like I used to have with PC games on my aging machine.

That said I still have both top end consoles, and don't have any desire to sell them. There's still the occaisional exclusive or party game I'd want to play with folks. They definitely aren't used much though.

Yea, Civ5 I'm a bit mixed feeling about ... but with mods it's pretty awesome IMO... Which, firaxis really made easy for the end users to select and install ....

I guess I've just been extremely pleased with everything I've played in the "Total War" series ...
