After spending the day shopping out or town, I was on my way home when I was tail gated for about 10Km's before being over taken by a stupid "P" Plater who then insisted on then disappearing in to the distance, swerving all over the road making a menace of herself, Concerned, I went to my local police station and reported this incident, in the interest of public safety, I was told that this would be followed up later on , I thought nothing more of it and went on my way home, with in less than 10 minutes of leaving the police station, I saw this young woman and her car pulled over by the police and being issued with a fine.
Now I normally don't give a sh*t about other drivers and their behavour, I usaully dish out some abuse and go about my business, but this young driver caught my attention by the lack of control she had over her Hyundai excel, and the fact that she insisted on using the oncoming lane while navigating the tight twisty bends of the road about 10 km's, a section of road which is nortorious for crashes and death's, what made it worse was the fact that she is a "provisional" licence holder and had a sever lack of experience in car control!.
Now I was no saint when I was a "P" plater and had done plenty of stupid things, but with the rise of young driver deaths in Australia, I felt I should do something, to help slow this down, hopefully she will learn from this experience, slow down and drive safer.
but I was really surprised by the quick response of the police, usaully they don't follow these sort of complaints up, but it's good to see the system work for a change!
