The latest on the GA crematorium debacle- crematory wasn't broken as claimed!

Man, this just gets more and more f*cked up every day. Investigators have discovered that the crematory is not broken as Marsh claimed (his excuse for not cremating the 339 bodies discovered so far). As an added bonus, they have found "pictures of dead bodies in various stages or decomposition, and pornography" on Ray Brent Marsh's computer.

Yeah, I saw that on cnn.com. It's pretty f'ed up.

I like how they are denying bail because there's a real threat on his life. 🙂

this is one sick story here in Atlanta.. I have a friend who's works for a private camera crew, hired by big companies to shoot sometimes and he had to shoot this area the day it all happened.. needless to say, he came home very late that night sick to his stomach.... he gave us some details and stories that have led me to just tuning this whole thing out... but it is screwed up...

<< So did this "porn" involve the bodies?

If not, why would they even mention it?

I did not want to picture that, but it's what I thought as well..

The guy was probably some Necro...

I was thinking the same thing....that is top of the heap in the "Stuff That's F*cked Up" pile, IMO.

He's been denied bond as the judge is pretty sure someone will kill him if they let him out. I'm gonna have to agree with that line of thinking.😉

So far they've only charged him with "theft by deception", but they have him on 118 counts so far, so I'm guessing he'll be incarcerated for quite some time.

that story amazes me yet again. can't wait for a decent historical book about the whole thing. (yes i am a true crime reader, and this doesn't quite fit the mold but it does in a way if there are pictures and pornographic images). i wonder if he did any of the killings...or if there were all funeral home bodies....just a thought. would make for a good hiding place if he was a serial killer.....

<< "There has been nothing found and no reason to suspect that [sexual abuse] would be part of the problem," Sperry said. >>

So, as of now, he's not yet been labeled a necro. So, as Viper said, why even note the pornography on his computer? Seems rather superfluous to the issue at hand. Maybe it's anti-pornography propaganda? "See, people like this watch pornography!"

What gets me is the charges..."theft by deception" WTF is that about..

Granted it is 118 counts but isn't that disrespecting the dead. I would think along the lines of crimes against humanity or something

I don't know if there even is a GA law regarding stacking bodies in sheds like firewood. The "theft by deception" means he took money for cremations that he never carried out and gave the families boxes filled with (IIRC) wood ashes and concrete mix or something. The interesting bit about that is that it implies that at least some of the funeral homes may have been in on this since they should have noticed the remains coming back to them weren't human.

Yes but "theft by deception" to me means that you pulled the wool over someones eyes..like a used car salesman selling you a lemon..

This is dumping Grandpa or grandma, mom or dad's remains in a ditch..letting the weather get to them..not to mention wild animals, plus giving the family some ashes from a wood stove. What he did is so wrong and "theft by deception" sounds way too nice for what he did.

I totally agree with you, but like I said, I'm not sure if there's anything else on the books they can prosecute him under. I know that GA legislature is in the process of amending this (rather hastily, I might add).
