Nonsense. Liberalism is alive and well in America, and the prominent political movement still. There's just liberal progressives (aka 'liburals') and liberal conservatives. And more besides. Even the 'betrayal of liberals' the OP is complaining about is just another variant of liberalism, neoliberalism.

And wrong. Having no GS is like giving crack addicts and welfare queens control of our economy, literally. Investment banks speculate vs. commercial banks must invest in reasonably proven productive capacity. The later is being eliminated and/or enveloped into the former.
