I thought the Civil War and American Revolution were the same thing? Arent they?!

Anyways, movie looks ok, I plan on seeing it although probably at home. Tom Cruise just doesnt strike me as Samuria-ish.

my friends who are still in school , apparently saw it already since it was pre screeneed on campus. they both said it was "awesome".

Hmmm.

Sounds like reviews are all over the board om this one.

My local paper gave it a D.

I think I'll wait for the video.

that's why you never, ever read reviews before the movie... bastards always ruin it for you :|.... anyway, i suggest you see it in the theatre. it'll lose a lot of its effect on video.

esp for these types of movies, war movies, sci fi etc. renting victorian costume dramas and comedies, well thats fine🙂

you'll notice either the reviews were raving, or totally negative for this film, not a muddled semi approval. love it, or hate it. always some critics you can't please.

I hope you are not one of those kids who thinks a Samurai is some god figure with a sword, they were just men who trained very heavily with it. Some people today train all their life to be good at a sport, while some are great 98% of them are just another average joe.

and I'll take the Civil War vs Revolution as sarcasm 😉

why would you want to know what others think of the movie before you even watch it? what's the point of that....?

I don't know, why did you click on this thread? You know the answer, don't ask.

just back saw it.
When everyone line up for LOTR:ROTK, I just go straight to the Theather without line up 🙂

AWESOME movie.
Don't trust ur local paper since sometimes they're drunk 😛
Trust review from AT😱T and rottentomatoes 😉

I personally liked the movie. From the preview it looked abit tacky, but it actually was pretty darn good. It will certainly be on my DVD "must have" list. Two thumbs up!

it was good, but it seemed too damn similar to "dances with wolves".
You saw "Dances with Wolves", a chick flick. I'm sorry.

The Last Samurai was a great movie, just like Glory! *hats off to director*

Glory was a work of art. Great acting all around, great musical score, and interesting subject matter. Definitely one of my favorites of all time and I have it on DVD.

yes, but is your DVD the Special Edition 2-Disc DVD? 🙂

Oh yes...
