Ok, so during the last days of Clinton he pardoned lots of folks like Mark Rich and such.

Who will GW pardon?

Scooter and Stevens?
Himself and Cheney?
Fox News?

What executive orders will he sign?

How many emails will suddenly "go missing"?

Will the shredders be working on overtime?

Well I know he's been trying to tie the hands of the next pres on Iraq with the whole status of forces agreement - I can see that being a nightmare.
 
All Presidents, on both sides of the aisle, have this enormous power, and they all use it.


One thing to note is that a Pardon can only be effected with an Admission of Guilt.

 
Clinton had nothing to do with the way Bush was received 8 years ago. When the supreme court gave Bush the white house, it left most people feeling pretty pessimistic about him, thus the cool reception.

I guess you missed the 30,000 pages of executive orders governing everything from oil leases to labor regulations to 'preserving' national landmarks, all enacted in Dec 00 - Jan. 01, none of which had any reasonable purpose (or he would have enacted them in the previous 7 years). He topped Carter's disgraceful record of 26,000 pages.

Poppy was kind enough to disappear after Nov. 92 and shut his mouth during the Clinton years.

Clinton engaged in 2 months of sore loser politics. Carter's done it for 8 years.

Payback.

Actually, if you bothered to follow up, many of the supposed things the Bushies did to the incoming President were not true. For example the oft repeated story of the Clinton staffers switching the letters on the keyboards was not true.

btw does the next Vice President get to keep Cheney's man sized safe?
