So its moving time..

notfred and I are parting ways.. He is moving to a safer neighbourhood and I am moving home for the summer. I will deal with housing for next sem later on.

Anyway so in the last 34 hrs.. this has happened..

I decide to move down to LA.. take my motorcycle on a UHaul trailer hitched to my ford focus. I filled the foucs up with atleat 50% of my crap. My original departure time from sactown was 4pm, that got shifted to 6, finally left at like 11:15-11:30pm. Ofcourse Bloody uhaul and their trailer ended up blowing bulbs and fuses when it was connected. I had to track down and figure out why all of a sudden some lights work and some dont.. turns the trailer had a short and a friendly neighbour helped me patch that thing. Ofcourse i tested teh system and had the parking lights on for over 3hrs.. thankfully i didnt drain the battery.

So im driving, nothing majorly eventful until i hit kettleman city around 3:30am. My car started wobbling and then i thought i had an engine issue.. turns out the Uhaul MT had a blow out. So I called Uhaul for a replacemtn tire, after all the info being taken, they go.. yeah ETA is about 90-120minutes (1.5-2hrs). I then call CHP for assistance seeing that I am on teh shoulder, its dark, and i got my hazards on. I am on the emergency lane but there isnt much room. Kettleman city exit is 1/4 mile behind me.. and i wanted to park there instead on the side of the road.

Anyway CHP went past me the first time chasing a drunk driver, they came back an hr later (around 5:30am) and see im still sitting there. They knew i had called for UHaull.. kinda was surpirsed i was still there. Finally around 5:45 (just after CHP left to chase a guy who went screaming past us) the Uhaul guy called looking for me. A few minutes later he found me. Took him all but 10 minutes to replace the wheel and then i was on my way. I had all but like 15 minutes of proper sleep waiting for these guys.

By this time my ETA of 6:30 ended up being 9ish.. It got further pushed back by 1/2 hr because my car showed signs of overheating. When i stopped at the grapevine exit, i stopped to refuel myself. Just when i was about to restart the engine i noticed the water temp was now moving past the center. I got worried and popped the hood. Sure enough it had coolant and stuff. I noticed the oil was midway thru the dipstick so i put in a 1/2 quart of oil. I had an oil change like 1200miles ago. Anyway I started up the hill, it did not have any issues. Pulled up the hill at 45-55mph. I finally ended up home at 9:30 am, dad helped me bring down the motorcycle and then i off loaded stuff from teh car. Took a hr rest (1/2 hr of sleep) and at 11:30am I was on the freeway again heading back to Sacramento. I finally got back to sac town at 6:30pm.

I just got home and now preparing to take a nap. then i will sort out the rest of the stuff that disappears on sunday.

So that's my story, how was your last 36hrs.

Cliff notes for the bastards:

Left Sactown on 26th of May 2004 at 11:30, reached LA at 9:30am (after a trailer blow out on the freeway)
Started from LA at 11:30am on 27th of May 2004 (1/2 hr of sleep) and reached back here at 6:30pm
Now looking to a nap.

Oh, I thought you'd died. I was wondering if you had some sort of automated system set up to make this post in the event you didn't stop it...
