LOL,I have found so many things...

A box of hand painted rocks, crayon drawings, handprints, the first ackward attempts at learning to write their names and other assorted memories from 3 kids. I even found my tooth fairy pillow, (yes, I was even once the
Tooth Fairy, of curse once they became teenagers I morphed into the wicked witch of the west. Funny, now that they have kids and need me to babysit or lend them money I've morphed again into Glenda the Good
Grandmom Witch 🙂 LOL, for my son I became the middle aged mutant ninja mother.

Barbie Stuff, if you laid all the Barbies I bought over the years end to end you could circle the globe, nothing quite like getting up at 3am with a sick baby ,sitting down on the sofa and having a Barbie leg poke you in the ass from between the sofa cushions.Of course, hot wheels cars that find their way beneath your feet are also a real trip..literally

A box of halloween costumes.. lol, my feeble attempts to sew .. and 3 kids who prentended my efforts were worthy of Vogue 🙂

Report cards... some of the teacher comments over the years were priceless.. "Angela informs us that her Grandmother came over from Ireland on the Mayflower" and "Nicole regaled the class today with a story of how her father picks lint from his navel and is saving it to make winter coats for children in your family.. thought you might wish to know this " "Mrs C, I will be calling at you home later as I noticed that the falling paper I sent home with Nicole to be signed by you was returned to me signed... in crayon"

Junior high school pics, lol, Funny I don't remember any of them ever looking so ackward.., one thing is for sure.. there's no gold in the hills here... it all got spent on their teeth and on the dermatologist 🙂

High School... first we had the ghetto rap look... I could never understand how looking like one came from poverty required $150 sneakers... then we had grunge, ah, the bliss of stalking Salvation Army stores for
for just the perfect used trench coat and beat down flannel shirts, the joy of giving gifts that make your kid resemble Chester the Molester !... then we had goth.. and to think I used to like the color Black 🙂

The Prom pics.. lol, thank you god for assisting me in biting my tongue at the assortment of losers my daughters dragged thru here,I used to refer to the boyfriends as "next" lol, cause it seemed that
once they would they announce "he's the one" there'd be another one love sick fool at my door
hehehe,my nicole had one that used to walk 3 miles every morning just to bring her fresh coffee
before school, even in winter 🙂

The incense burners... lol, and they thought I wouldn't figure out that the funny smell coming from their rooms wasn't strawberry incense 🙂

Photo's of pets and friends, and family some of whom are no longer among us... I had some of the best cats in the world over the years ! Memories of trips and houses, good tiimes and some sad. Wow I really did ski and was pretty good,I learned to sail a boat and wrote some darn nice papers, the people in Austria were cool but coffee was outragously expensive. My efforts at knitting show rthat Martha Stewart's got nothing to
fear from me

The woman in the pics got older over the years and the babies with her are adults now but one thing
remains the same, the smile on my face then and the smile on my face now .It's been a good ride thus
far, I can only hope the next chapter of my life is as good 🙂

I love it... 😀

EDIT: Not that I endorse that type of activity, however. 🙁 It's very bad, and I want to be an FBI agent when I grow up, so I've never done it.

What I hate about moving is I realize what a freakin' pack rat I am, saving almost EVERYTHING.

It sucks.

Well, I'm being ruthless here, besides the tax writeoff for my donations piles will come in handy 🙂

I have only moved twice in my life (once that I remember, I was 2 the first time).

We are going to move this summer. It will be to a smaller house (or an apartment for awhile if we don't find a house we like 🙁 ) so I am not looking forward to moving at all. I have tons of stuff, and have no ideal what to do with it all (same with my parents)

Out of all the places we have looked at only one was still in town where I could keep broadband (DSL). I'll probably be on 56k soon and paying a 200 dollar bill for disconnecting my DSL early (im on a contract till Sept. 2003).

Hopefully everything will work out, cause none of us really are looking forward to moving. We are doing it for "other" reasons.

AS you may know I moved recently from a 2 story house into a one story hovel whilst I build my home. Actually it's a very nice 100yr+ house tastefully redone but irritatingly small compared to my former digs. I had to put a fair amount of stuff in storage in the barn on my property and of course most of the boxes got mixed up and missplaced. I sit here in 90 degree weather, surrounded by boxes of winter clothes wondering where the dishes are. I've got my complete collection of old 45s but I haven't yet found the cell phone charger or the remotes.....
I'm wondering also about all those double AA batteries and pens I stashed away so my kids couldn't pilfer them.

Your move seemd relatively seamless.....more of a trip down memory lane. Mine was a trip to hell and back......hopefully! 🙂😉

Dude,I haven't moved yet, I just finished sorting thru and packing up a couple closets and my tools/cables
hell is yet to come I think 🙂

Fresh advice:

Don't even bother marking the contents of a box on top, once they' re stacked it won't show. Mark 3 sides instead.
It's not a good idea to cram all 378 volumes of your encyclopedia into one box.
Put all your essential PC related paraphernalia into one box and put it in your car. (smart move on my behalf)
Empty pampers boxes are worth their weight in gold....start amassing them months in advance.

Good luck and may the force be with you! 🙂

The wife wants to move. Guess we will in a few years. We've been at the same place for 16 years. Too much stuff.

My attic probably houses some of the same items.

Good Luck
